"Why do you still work for them?!" Alexander yelled.
Faye looked up from the kitchen table. "Who else is going to pay enough for the bills? You get paid little to nothing!"
"I thought you were done!" He screamed and slammed his glass down.
Faye stood up. "I'm done trying to please them. I'm done trying to be apart of their family. I'm not however, trying to take over the company. And if this month goes well then they'll have no choice but to seek it to me." She said.
"I think you are smart enough to get them to sell it to you?" Alexander asked.
"You think I'm not?" She asked and pulled her coat on.
"I trust you Faye. But if they do much as a lay a hand on you-"
"They won't." She said. "And if they do you'll be the first to know." She said and kissed his cheek.
She walked to the door and walked to her car. She got in and drove to work.
She got out and frowned at the ambulances.
She got out quickly and ran inside.
Her mother was running to the main hall. "Your father had a stroke." She said. Nearly hysterical.
Faye watched her mother run after the gurney. "Maybe this will be faster than I though." She whispered.

Faye looked at her mother. "Who's odder is higher than mine?"
Her mother shook her head. "No ones. Your father told me never to sell it to you." She said.
Faye stood up. "My offer would make it so you'd event have to work a day in your life. Who else would be able to manage this business other then me?"
Her mother stood up. "I can't just go against his wishes!"
"Why? He went against yours everyday!" Faye snapped.
       Her mother froze. "You're right."
"What would he do? He can't very well come down and hurt you now can he?" Faye asked.
"What makes you so sure he's in heaven?" Her mother asked.
Faye shook her head and smiled. "Oh I know he's not."
Her mother sighed. She grabbed a pen. "If this is the only thing I can do for you to make you happy then I'll do it." She said and quickly signed the paper. "Now go! I'll never see you again." She snapped.
Faye took the papers and walked out of the room. "You're right about that." She said under her breath and sat down in her office. She faxed the papers to the judge.
He sent her a message finalizing the details and Faye leaned back in her chair. She now owned the largest company in the town.
She grabbed her phone and called Alexander. "Alexander, meet me in my office in twenty minutes. We have much to celebrate."
Set set her phone down and couldn't help but smile. Though the circumstances were horrible, she had gotten the best deal out of it all. And she couldn't help but feel amazing about it.
