Faye stood behind the crowd of people. Adria spotted her and she stormed over. "How dare you fucking show your face here?! First you cause him to have a stroke and then you steal the company he's worked his entire life to build!" She snapped.
Faye took her sunglasses off. "I worked my entire life for this company. I'd say I deserve to own it."
"Fuck you faye. I wish you were never born." Adria snapped.
Faye put her sunglasses back on. "I'm sure you do." She said and walked away from her sister. She walked to Alexander. "Ready to go?"
He nodded and handed Keren to her mother. "She missed you."
Faye kissed her daughters head. "Mommy missed you too." She said and they walked to Alexander's car.
He stopped her before she got in and he knelt down. "Faye Lilith Reed will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?" He asked.
Faye's mouth dropped. "Alexander you do know what you'll begetting into right? I'm not the easiest person to manage." She said softly.
He nodded. "I know and I love that. Easy's boring." He said. "Will you?"
Faye nodded. "Yes. A thousand times." She said softly.
Faye looked in the mirror. She sighed and pulled her hair into a bun. She never dreamed of having anyone walk her down the aisle. Her family was never telling her to look forward to that. But standing heron her wedding day she couldn't help but wish she had someone. She pushed the feelings away and finished putting her hair up.
She pulled her dress on and walked to the window. Her heart felt heavy.
A knock on the door made her turn. She froze. "Mother."
Her mother hesitantly walked into the room. "You invited me."
Faye nodded. "I didn't think you would show." She said softly.
Her mother handed her a tiny box. "It was your grandmothers. Grandmother faye."
Faye opened it. A small locket sat in the box. Faye engraved in it. Faye set the box down and pulled the locket out.
Her mother held out her hand. "Let me help you." She said and helped Faye fasten it. She looked at Faye in the mirror. "You could have been her twin."
Faye didn't know what to say.
"You look beautiful Faye." Her mother said.
Faye turned away from the mirror. "You don't have to be here. I know you don't want to be."
"I do. I want to see my eldest daughter on her wedding day." She said.
Faye said nothing. Her mother hesitated. "I can leave if you want me too."
"No. No please stay." Faye said quickly. She heard the bells. "You should go sit." She said.
"Right. Of course." Her mother said and walked to the door. She looked back at Faye. "You've come a long way faye." She said and left the room.
Faye crossed her arms over her body. She looked at the wooden floor beneath her. What was going to happen? These good things couldn't keep happening. Something bad was bound to follow wasn't it?
Faye looked at Alexander. She smiled. "I do." She whispered. The final words sealed by a kiss.
Faye felt happiness bloom through her.
His mother walked over to the two and handed Keren to Alexander. "Take care of him." She said to Faye. She looked at them and smiled. "I couldn't be more proud of the man you've become Alexander. You've gained two beautiful people in your life."
Alexander smiled and looked at Faye. "It was easy knowing what I had to. All I had to do was convince her of the same thing."
Faye smiled. "That wasn't hard to do." She said softly. "I love you."
