Chapter 21: Finale

"It's todaaaaay" Olga sings with joy as she dances around in the kitchen. Today Dad and Angie are finally getting married. The wedding is later today but first I have to go to the studio. I've tried calling Leon all morning but there was no answer but atleast I'll see him at the studio.

"It's about time those two got married!" Ramallo says as he and I watch Olga joyfully dance around the kitchen.

"Angie is going to look so beautiful in her wedding dress" Olga says and Ramallo and I nod in agreement.

"How's the wedding cake coming along?" I ask. Angie had asked Olga to make it so I just know it will taste wonderful.

"You'll see at the wedding, dear" She says.

"If you don't leave now you'll be late for your classes at the studio!" Ramallo says. I gasp as I look at the clock hanging on the wall. He was right.

"Vilu!" Fran says as she spots me in the studio hallways. I smile as I see her.

"Hey, do you know where Leon is?" I ask.

"No, I don't" she says, "Sorry"

"It's fine" I say. Suddenly, I spot Diego coming towards us. I notice that there's some tension between Fran and Diego.

"See you later, Vilu" Francesca says before suddenly walking away.

"What's up with her?" I ask Diego as we both watch Francesca walk away. Diego stays silent for a moment.

"Well," He says, "I kinda....sorta..turned her down"

"You did what?!" I say instantly feeling bad for Fran. It was bad enough that Marco left but now Diego has turned her down, she just can't seem to catch a break.

"I'm just not ready to date her" he says. I frown at him.

"Anyway" He says, attempting to change the subject, "I can't wait for Angie and your Dad's wedding later"

"Me neither!" I say.

"I bet Olga has made the greatest tasting cake ever" he says.

"Yeah!" I say, "By the way, have you seen Leon?" Diego's face drops. I could tell he wanted to roll his eyes everytime he even heard Leon's name.

"No, I haven't" He says.

After finishing my classes at the Studio I decide to go to Leon's house to find out what's going on. I knock on his door and wait for someone to answer. Lucas answers.

"Come in!" He says with a smile. As I walk in I notice that the house was practically empty with a few scattered boxes everywhere.

"Where's Leon?" I ask.

"He's upstairs, go on up" Lucas says. I begin to walk up the stairs and enter Leon's room. He's silently sitting on his bed holding a small box.

"Leon.." I say. He jolts up from the bed, staring at me with sad eyes.

"There's, uh, something I need to tell you" he says. I start to worry. I know what he's going to say but I'm praying he doesn't.

"I'm moving back to Mexico" he says, my heart instantly drops. Tears start to fill my eyes.

"W-when?" I ask, choking back the tears.

"Today" he says.

"TODAY?!" I shout, "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME"

"I didn't know how, I didn't think we were leaving so soon!" He says. I begin to notice his eyes were filled with tears.

"So you were planning to leave without telling me?" I say.

"Of course not!" He say.

"Then why didn't you tell me sooner!" I say as tears start to fall from my eyes.

"I-I'm sorry, Vilu" He says, stepping towards me to try and comfort me. I step away from him.

"Don't touch me" I say.

"Vilu, I promise I'll come back someday!" He says.

"Someday?" I say in disbelief. I can't believe this is happening. One minute, everything was perfect and the next, everything is falling apart.

"I am so sorry, Vilu" he says, sounding deeply hurt.

"Are you at least coming to the wedding?"

"I think it's for the best if I don't" he says.

"Are you being serious right now?!" I ask, slowly becoming more and more angry.

"I'm sorry, I-"

"No," I say cutting him off, "I can't believe you're doing this to me"

"It's not my fault!" Leon says, "Lucas is making me!"

"Whatever, see you 'someday'" I say before storming out of his room. As I leave his house I feel sick to my stomach. This is it, Leon is leaving and there's nothing I can do about it.

"So he's not coming?" Angie asks as we were sat in her dressing room moments away from walking down the aisle.

"No" I say quietly. Angie comfortingly places her hand on my shoulder. Suddenly, we hear a knock on the door. I open the door to see Diego standing there in his suit.

"I heard about Leon" he says, "I am so sorry"

As he hugs me tightly, I feel an usual sense of comfort. Diego was always there when I needed him, he was selfless enough to let me go so I could be happy with Leon.

"Well, it's time" I say to Angie.

As Diego and I stand within in the crowd waiting for Angie to come out Diego places his hand in mine.

"Listen, Vilu" he says, "I'm really sorry about Leon but at the same time...I'm not"

I stare at him in confusion. Before I could find the words he kisses me.

"Diego, I-" I get cut off by Angie finally appearing.

As I watch Angie walk down the aisle I can't help but feel a little envious. She has finally gotten her happy ending and so has my dad but just when I thought I had mine everything fell apart.

After the ceremony Angie and my dad start to greet all the guests and thank them for coming.

"So are you just gonna let him leave without a proper goodbye?" Francesca suddenly says.

"It's his fault, he didn't even come to the wedding" I say.

"Um, yes he did" She says.

"Fran, no he didn't" I say.

"He was, Vilu!" She says, "He asked me where you were, he wanted to properly say goodbye"

At that moment my heart dropped.

"He must've seen...." I murmur

"Seen what?" Francesca asks.

"N-never mind, take me to the airport!" I say.

I tell dad and Angie what I need to do and rush off to the Airport with Francesca in her car.  When we finally get inside the airport we look around to try and find Leon.

"Vilu, we're never gonna find him.." Francesca says.

"Don't say that, Fran!" I say, resisting the urge to cry. This was it, I was never going to see him again. He was gone. His flight is due to leave at this very moment and there's nothing I can do about it.

Francesca puts her arm around me as we watch Leon's plane take off.

"There he goes..." I say.
