"Come on, lazy ass! You have to come with me to the company. It's been two days you didn't come."

Kongpob opened his eyes, he winced a little at his sore back but seeing Simon's angry face Kongpob shut his mouth from producing any sound.

Kongpob nodded his head and stood up, wrapping the blanket around his lower region, he walked to the bathroom as he bit his lower lip trying to suppress the groan.

Kongpob slides down the blanket at the entrance of the door before he locked himself inside the bathroom. He sighed as he stared at himself in the mirror.

Kongpob's lips were swollen, dried blood on his lips. His neck had deep purple bruises. Kongpob touched his right cheek which had a purple turning black bruise on it.

Kongpob sighed. He had to use makeup again.

Kongpob after brushing his teeth stood inside the shower for a bath. He didn't take much time in the shower as his husband doesn't like being late especially since there is an important meeting at the office.

Kongpob dressed up soon and walked downstairs after he applied the perfect amount of foundation cream over his bruise.

Kongpob saw Simon waiting for him while he was talking with April who was in her pyjamas.

"April, when did you come dear?" Kongpob smiled happily as he saw his daughter.

April looked up to meet Kongpob's happy smile directed towards her. Unknowingly April too smiled back at the innocence of her Mom's smile, but soon April turned towards her stoic face.

Kongpob didn't miss that action.

"I came back early morning. Don't have class today so I decided to come back home," April spoke in a monotone.

Kongpob nevertheless kept the smile on his face. He walked towards April and kissed her forehead while he heard her groan. He pulled back and cupped April's cheek with his palm.

"Take rest April, you are exhausted, I love you dear" Kongpob smiles.

April huffs, "As if I care."

Kongpob's smile turned bitter, but he didn't say a word. As long as April was safe and he could see her he didn't have any problem.

"Enough of the Mom and daughter talk, Kong let's go. I have asked the guard to buy sandwiches, we can eat it on the way," Simon pulled Kongpob irritatedly away from April who stares at the two.

Kongpob nodded, his head hung low as he followed his husband. He could feel sharp stare on his back, he sighed.

April watched her Mom being dragged out by her stepdad. She couldn't help but glare at them. A lone tear slipping down her cheeks.

She clearly saw how Kongpob had used makeup to cover his bruise. After all he was her Mom, she knows when something changes in him. April didn't like that so-called step dad of her at all. He is the reason why she is like this. He is the reason why she had secluded herself from her Mom who she loved so much.

April chuckled bitterly at herself. Her mom was too pure by heart and body and still is. She can never compare herself with him, not after everything that is going on.

*****

Kongpob stares out of the window of the car as he thinks about April. He can hear his husband talking to someone on the phone and ignoring him completely.

Kongpob couldn't help but think about his daughter's behaviour. She is the light of his life and the stars to his night. She is the only reason why he chooses to marry Simon, he know she needed a father, not a weak omega like him. There was a limit to the extend he could work to balance both him and his daughter's life.
