CHAPTER 8

April stared at the door of her mom's bedroom. Ever since she came back to the house she hadn't seen Kongpob. If when she pushes Kongpob away whenever she returns back home, even if it's too late at night he would wait for her. But today even if she had come early than usual, instead of being greeted by her mom she got to see that scumbag Simon's face.

April was startled when she heard a loud thud on the door of her mom and Simon's bedroom. It was as if someone was pushed onto the door. April bit her lips, her mind clouding with all negative thoughts which she didn't like.

Her eyes widened when she heard loud cries from the room. She rushed towards the door and kept her ears on the wooden door.

"P'Simon, please...please...let me go," April heard Kongpob cry.

"How dare you talk to Arthit!? And that too hugging him! You're cheating on me!" Simon shouted.

April covered her mouth from letting out her sobs.

"P, please...he...he was just comforting me," Kongpob tried to explain.

"Who is he!? Who is he, Kong!?" Simon shouted again and April heard the sound of slapping and she knew her mom was being beaten.

"He's...he's no one, please P'Simon! It hurts!" Kongpob cried.

"You'll suffer for this Kongpob!" Simon shouted.

April heard Kongpob's cries from inside and tears started to fall from her eyes. She couldn't still believe that they had fallen in that crocodile's words and those falls affection. She stood up and leaned on the wall beside the bedroom door. She still knew that her mom still believes that Simon is nice to her.

April was startled when she heard the door open absurdly. Her eyes widened when Simon came out of the room, his face red from anger, his hair in a deceived state, and half of his shirt open.

Simon turned towards April, a smirk forming on his lips as he closed the door behind him and walked towards April.

April gulped, she turned around as she started to walk towards her bedroom but was soon caught by Simon.

Simon pulled her by her waist. April closed his eyes in disgust when she found him sniffing her smell.

"Who is Arthit to you? Why did he drop you today?" Simon asked in his alpha voice but April only looked at him coldly with an expressionless face.

"Why do you care, you bastard?" April grunted.

Simon laughed, and April so hated it.

"If you don't want to see your mom 6 feet down. You've to tell me baby, and I've got a gift for you," Simon said as he took out a white packet from his pocket and gave it to April.

"Here take it, it's a rare piece, my girl. Your dad had to deal with special people to get this for my daughter," Simon caressed April's cheek.

April knew what the packet was. Her hands were tempting her to take it from Simon's hand and use it but Kongpob's miserable face when he found out that she was using drugs appeared on her mind.

"I'm quitting it," April said hesitantly.

Simon smiled at her, "Oh really? But your face tells me the opposite."

April looked away, she was controlling herself form using drugs for the few days and even though it was hard she tried her best. And she didn't want to ruin it now.

Simon took April's hand and placed the packet on her hand.

"Now tell me, how do you know Arthit?" Simon asked.
