The Corrupted One

Chapter 7

As few days had passed Emil has been really busy at work. He has been over timing at work and Lora is concerned.

*Phone rings* Emil picks up the phone. "Hey honey umm.. i know you are on your break but, i just want to ask you if you're ok" Lora said over the phone. "Yea... uh im fine i just need to fix some files that keeps dissappearing for no reason" Emil said. "Come home early tonight and i will kae your favorite stew!" Lora said and ended the call. After his break Mr. Dolores approached him. "Mr. Smith i need you to over time again later, i have some extra work for you" Mr. Dolores said and left. Emil sighed and wished that he can finish it early.

He started to work on it so he can finish early, a few hours later he had finished it but the computer started to glitch in and out of reality he sees it and doesn't believe what he is seeing
he thinks its the effect of looking at the computer for too long so he scrubs his eyes and the computer stops to glitch, he then realized that his work is gone and has to redo it. After a few hours he saves it twice a back up incase it dissappears again. The computer start to glitch again and deleted the files once again, and is giving Emil mixed emotions so he reported it his Boss they went and look at the computer.

"Umm.. i see no problem with the computer Mr. Smith maybe you should just call it a day" Mr. Dolores said. "Bu-" Emil was cut off. "I understand you are tired you can go rest now" Mr. Dolores said and left. "Sigh, i guess im not that late to come home" Emil whispered to himself.

He drives off and arrives home safely, he sees his cold food that his Fiancee made for him. He goes upstairs and comes across his Fiance about to come down. "You're late" Lora said. "Im really sorry honey, Mr. Do-" Emil gets cut off. "I am tired of your excuses, go eat your food and sleep, you must be tired" Lora said with no expression. While Emil is eating he thinks that their relationship is starting to fall apart because of work?

He feels really bad about their current situation and doesn't know what to do anymore, he tries to sleep with this burden in his chest but he can't, so he grabbed a journal and wrote down what happened today.

The next morning, Emil thought up a plan to make Lora happy so before she wakes up Emil will be the one to make breakfast. "Good moring honey, you're up early" Lora said. "Sit down, i will be the one to serve breakfast" Emil added. "Ok then" Lora agrees. While they were eating they were interrupted by a call from Emil's Boss saying he need to come quick, Emil apologized to Lora and left as soon as possible.

Lora was left there eating feeling sad and lonely.
