It has been a few weeks since Ben saw Earth.
Since he was let to see him.
That's right, Ben wasn't let into the grand hospital anymore after he had left the first time after meeting Earth. There was now a guard at the doors, that wasn't there when Ben first arrived here, but this guard wasn't even bothering to communicate with him.
Ben was persistent, he had tried, but it was always the same answer from the guard; "No, get the fuck out of this property." He had repeated it so many times, that now he didn't say even that.
Ben was also angry, but he tried to understand that this was only for Earth's well being. They knew what to do with him, this was the grand hospital, they must be highly qualified. Right?
But Ben still always hung around the hospital. He was in a foreign country, but he had gotten into a hotel with his English skills. His credit card literally felt like it screamed in his pocket when he used it to something as expensive as a hotel.
His digits were low to begin with, but he had some extra money to spare from the money the school had lent him. Not much, but it was better than nothing.
Every spare time he had, he just sat near the hospital.
He wasn't sure what he was waiting to happen. Maybe for Dome to walk out so he could negotiate with him? Maybe for Earth to come out fine and well? Maybe a God to come and clear this shit out?
Something he noticed from his visits at the yard was that smoke rose from the large chimney that decorated the hospital's flat ceiling. Always at the same time the smoke flowed out until the air swallowed it whole. Maybe the smoke had something to do with Earth? Possibly not, it was just smoke after all, but it still made Ben curious.
And he didn't have anything but time to spare, so why not look around.
Ben wasn't sure if he could manage to get around the hospital or if it would be blocked down from the public eye, but he wanted to try.
And it led him here. To the back, after a walk through a thick forest and a struggle of climbing over a fence he was sure would be electrocuted and would kill him.
He turned out to be wrong about that.
He looked around himself, his eyes landing to what looked like a glass box that was compound to the hospital. An overhang.
There were a pair of eyes looking at Ben from inside the glass windows. Curious eyes of a boy that looked young, but still around the same age as Ben. He wore a cloak that resembled hospital clothing. He was sitting on the ground, his eyes sternly fixated on Ben, making the other notice him.
As the strange boy stood up and was hurriedly making his leave back inside the hospital, Ben stopped him by yelling after him. "Hey boy, wait a moment!"
The boy came to a halt stop, turning his head a little wearily. "I-I'm not supposed to talk to you." His voice was slightly deeper than Ben would have imagined, but his eyes were innocent, maybe even scared.
"To me specifically?"
The boy nodded hastily.
"Can I... at least get your name or something? I'm not a weirdo I swear. Whatever you have heard, I'm not." Ben tried to convince the boy. He needed eyes onto the inside, and maybe this boy was his answer to finding things out.
"My name is Joong."
