Four blissful hours later, we finally reached home from the shopping mall. Raven bought a dozen dresses whereas I bought only two, only because she tormented me to no end just to buy those dresses.
For God's sake.
I plopped down on the couch feeling exhausted. Oh, those heels were killing me. Remind me not to wear heels when I go out for shopping with Raven.
Raven disappeared into my room and came back with the dress I bought for the prom night. I cocked an eyebrow questioningly.
"Now wear this and we have to decide your hair and make-up," she said in a 'duh' tone. So after two more hours of experiment, my prom look was finally decided, by the one and only I-am-a-stylist-in-training-Raven. I looked at my reflection and nearly gasped.
"Whoa...who's this woman I'm looking at?"
Raven just flipped her hair to the side while sporting a smug expression on her face. I looked totally different. The smoky eye shadow made my eyes look even bigger. My hair was curled to perfection and a light pink tint was visible on my lips.
"Are you planning to make Asher not recognize me during the prom?" I teased.
"Oh, shut up will ya? Now go and find that pretty little boyfriend of yours," she waved me away pointing at the door.
Earlier today, Asher called me over to his place to help him decide which tux to wear for the prom. He wanted us to wear matching attire. But I had to cancel our little meeting as Raven was determined to take me out for shopping. Thank God our shopping spree had ended earlier than I expected, now I had plenty of time to check upon him.
So I changed back to my hoodie and sweat pants, scrubbed off my face clean and started walking towards his neighborhood as he was just a few blocks down the road.
I was panting like a dog as soon as I reached his doorsteps. I really need to start my workouts. Once my breathing returned to its normal pace, I knocked on his door but no one answered. I knocked again but as moments passed started to grow out of my patience.
I blew out my breath frustratingly and twisted the doorknob impatiently. And it....opened?
I stepped in and looked around to see several red cups scattered around the living room. The whole place looked a mess and two of his friends were passed out on the couch and the floor. Was he partying all night?
I knew he too skipped school today but.... Am I the only one who wasn't aware of a party in the neighborhood?
Probably.
The typical Hazel.
Actually, even if I knew there was a party going on, I wouldn't have come. Not that I hate parties, though. But tomorrow was still a school day so I didn't want to show up as a walking dead with a hangover at school the next day.
Did I mention that I have a very, very, very poor alcohol tolerance?
Okay, now you know.
I shook off my thoughts and climbed the staircase leading to his room. I crossed his parents' room, and I could see it was empty as the door was wide open. Of course, his parents were away; otherwise, he would not throw a crazy party like this on a weekday.
I was a few feet away from his room door and immediately got his by his intoxicating cologne. It was always like that and it was the sole reason why I loved to spend my time in his room. It smelled so like...like him.
The corner of my lips tugged upwards on its own, without me even realizing it. Suddenly I felt hot all over. Damn hormones. The doorknob felt ice cold against my hot palms. I twisted it, slowly pushing it open.
