Noah's POV

+++

To be honest, I've never had an unruffled sleep in a very long time until last night. No matter how hard I try to block out those nightmares, they still find a way to haunt my nights. That's till one day, I gave up fighting it. Maybe I was destined to live with it. Then just let it be.

Fight it or deal with it, right?

So I usually spent my nights hanging out at the bar, working out, and improving my shooting skills and so on. I even plan out my assignments during the nights, if you know what I mean. So eventually I got used to it. Even Roy started calling me nocturnal and I began to believe that fact too.

Nah, just kidding.

But everything changed last night. She changed everything last night. Last night, when I was returning to my house after meeting up with a *cough* client *cough*, I saw a figure laying on the front yard of Hazel's house. Suspiciously, I got closer to get a better view. And, guess who was it? My sugar, indeed.

My sugar?

Fuck it.

Ctrl-Alt-Del.

Shit, this is getting really out of my hand. I think I should first get myself a muzzle.

Now, how did I get here? Ah, yeah, Hazel. Her elegantly clad self was lying on the wet grass of her lawn. Her eyes were droopy which proved she was either sleepy or completely drunk. I think I'll go with the latter. She didn't even notice me standing right next to her until I spoke up.

"Are you planning on sleeping here?"

I saw her becoming a little tense but then she mumbled, "Unfortunately, no...". I chuckled at how cute she sounded. "Then why are you laying on your lawn?"

"The lawn just needed a hug," she said in a tired flat tone. Too much alcohol if you ask me. Not good.

"Such a romantic, I see." I teased while smirking at her state. "Oh, you have no idea," she let out finally opening her eyes. Those hazel brown orbs. God, how much I missed them... "What are you doing here?" that pulled me out of the trance her eyes put me in.

"Oh, I just saw my neighbor cuddling with wet grass. So I came here to ask her whether she wants to do the same thing but with me." Her eyes widened and her jaw almost hit the floor.

There, I said it. Do I regret it? Nope, not at all. I watch her eyes narrowing at me, a small smile playing at my lips all the while. As if she couldn't get any cuter. Then she got distracted and started to check me out.

Right now, sugar?

"Done eye-raping me, sugar?" I teased again. Her expressions were truly worth it. She gave me an eye roll in return of my smirk and lay back down on the grass. Without a second thought, I laid back next to her, like how an iron would be attracted to a magnet. We didn't talk. We were just relishing in each other's company, I guessed.

"My life is sooo messed up," she said out of nowhere. I shifted on my elbows so that I was now fully facing her. "Fuck, it has been messed up from the beginning."

"You sure wanna talk about it?" I was unsure whether she really wants to do it.

"I am talking now, aren't I?" she slurred.

I just chuckled and said, "Then go on."

She started saying something about her family and her sister but wasn't even paying any attention. It wasn't because I already knew her really well, but...because of just...her. I really don't know why I just couldn't take my eyes off her face. Under the moonlight, she looked more...angelic.
