setting: the rooftop of east high
Ricky POV:
He was nervous, he really hadn't talked to Nini much since the breakup and even at the audition. But he knew he felt something when they sang and wanted to tell nini how he felt as they were playing lovers.
He heard footsteps coming up knowing it was Nini and his heart started racing he had been practicing what he was going to say for 20 minutes in front of Big Red until they agreed on what he should say.
Finally she appeared looking breathtaking, he may have stared a little bit to long before finally Nini broke the silence "hey".
"Uh hey, look I know this whole thing is going to be awkward, who would believe we'd be back here playing love interests again. But I want you to know we can totally be professional and just be friends, is that all good?" Ricky said to Nini kind of nervously.
NINI POV:
She was taken back by what he had said, even though she felt like crying on the inside when he said "friends" she responded with "of course, friends it is, I um better go kourt wanted to grab lunch before the next class" she sped off down the stairs until she reached the bottom and the tears started falling, she loved him so much that she was in pain from everything.

What neither knew is that both were crying after the conversation with it feeling like their heart had been ripped out of their chest as they were both so in love but not knowing how each other felt
RICKY POV:
I can't help dreamin' of you
Guess I'm sayin' I don't not love you
You know, you know, you know
Ricky strummed a few chords of the song Nini wrote for him, and as the tears fell, he knew one day in his heart he would say those 3 little words to her again. Whether she loved him or not.

Yeah so kinda intense chapter!!
Rehearsals start next chapter and it gets good I promise,
Hopefully this chapter wasn't too messy, but basically Ricky said they need to be professional and friends so that they could perform better and both their hearts are broken since neither are over each other.
I'm back at uni unfortunately now so I'll have to find as much time to write as possible even if it's on the bus😅, it's the weekend now so I should be able to upload 1 or 2 more chapters!!
