*Ricky Pov*

I stood there waiting for her to come home, I'd just gotten her text telling me she was on her way. I was nervous, even though we loved each other what if she thought it was too soon. I'd set up everything even the backyard for later. As I stood waiting at the end of my path i heard her car pull up. "Ricky?" She called out. "In the living room" he called back he watched her come through the hallway "Ricky what's going on?" Nini asked him.

"Nini I need to ask you something." He told her and she went silent. "Nina Salazar-Roberts, from the moment I met you back in kindergarten. I knew there was something special about you, even when I microwaved your barbie so you'd pay attention to me. I remember the first date we had I took you to a local diner and we had milkshakes and then I asked you to be my girlfriend, and we were in love.

I remember our first heartbreak and my first musical so I could win you back. Even thought we've had some tough times we always made our way back as we loved each other and the day you moved in here gave me a glimpse of what our future would be, where we'd be happiest as you lived your dream on broadway and I taught music. But one thing I do remember is after Wicked! where I surprised you with a rooftop date and I gave you a ring with a promise which I notice you never take off."

I got down on one knee and opened the small box as I watched Nini teared up "So in saying that Nina Salazar Roberts will you do me the honour of becoming my wife as I love you and I want you forever in my life"

"Ricky... I don't know what to say. I guess I say yes!" Nini said as she held back for tears, It was official we were engaged and were moving to New York soon. "Now for my next surprise follow me to the backyard." As we walked out to the back door I noticed her looking at her ring smiling.

*Nini Pov*
I couldn't believe it, we were engaged. As Ricky led me to his backyard I kept looking at the ring and it was amazing the way it sparkled and matched the simpleness of my promise ring. when we made it to the back and he turned the lights on I was met with all our friends and family. "SUPRISE!" they all yelled and It was so nice both my moms and grandma were there and Ricky's parents with their respective partners. All our friends were there from our core group to the drama crew. There was crates set up with food through it and fairy lights everywhere. It was amazing that Ricky had planned all of this.

I smiled up to Ricky and just hugged him. I was content with my life right now and ready to begin the next chapter.
