Chapter 5

I took a couple steps out the door. I caught a lot of werewolves attention, but nobody did anything. They just all kind of stared at me then went back to work. I turned around to look at my Bloodrem. He was standing right behind me ready to catch me when I stumbled. Walking on two legs in this form was the hardest thing I'd done in while.

I decided I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of all the other werewolves so I just stood there and looked around.

Finally Nicolai spoke up, "Come on, I'll show you where my place is. Then I'll show you where you'll be staying."

I nodded my head and let Nicolai hook my arm with his so I could keep better balance. We walked down so many streets that were made out of stone, and all the buildings looked thick and strong. It was actually really beautiful down here. There were werewolves walking around in all different forms-some in their midway form, some full on beast form, and some just looked like humans. Me and Nicolai kept getting smiles from the others that walked by. They could probably tell who I was.

We walked up these stone steps and onto a huge porch with a big ark way to the front door. But then I noticed that there wasn't even a front door. It was just an open space that led into a huge entryway. There were guards standing by the entrance, they were in their midway form.

This place was huge and so beautiful. It was a complete masterpiece with a balcony hanging off the second floor and a chandelier dangling from the tall ceiling. There were intricate rugs laying about and it kinda of reminded me of a medieval castle.

"How did you guys build this place? It's huge! No one would ever guess its underneath Gunther Town."

Nicolai smiled and looked pretty proud, "This city has been here for 245 years. The pack has been led by my bloodline since its opened. One of my great ancestors built this place and ever since we've just been adding on. It use to just be our home and a couple other buildings surrounding it. But now the pack has grown so much, it's literally become an underground city. Not even the humans that know about us know how big this place is."

I was stunned. Why didn't humans build cool stuff like this? "Are you guys the only pack that has an underground city?"

"No, but we were the first pack to move underground. After my ancestor did it all the packs started to do it. It ended up being the safest and most efficient way for us to live."

"Wow." Was all I said. It might not be so bad living here. But it's still going to take a while to trust Nicolai and these werewolves. I'm not just going to forget what happened to my friends. I pushed that thought to the back of my mind, "Who all lives here?"

Nicolai began leading me through the house. We walked up this really big red stone staircase that sat at the back of the entryway. "My father-Saxon, Xylo, my cousin-Valerie, my uncle- Daydron, and my other uncle- Adarion. You'll meet them later."

"Ok." Hearing that his already frightening father had two brothers seriously terrified me.

"Oh and I forgot my step mother- Klaire lives here as well. And some of the servants. Always seem to forget about the servants. Not very nice of me." Nicolai smiled.

We stopped at another fancy door and he opened it. It lead to a huge room with a very low mattress that was covered in furs and pillows. The huge bed and a standing rack that had clothes hanging on it were basically the only two pieces of furniture. There was a lot of unused space. The floor was a coppery tile an the walls were a dark textured brown. A chandelier was also hanging from this ceiling.

"This is my room." Nicolai said, "So if you ever need anything just walk on in, you don't have to knock." Then he shut the door and led me over to a door across the hallway. He opened it, "This is your room." It was very similar to Nicolai's room only the walls were dark red and I had a random couch.
