Nicolai

I come awake to a knock at my bedroom door. I jump out of bed then backtrack and cover Breese with the furs. I run to the door and crack it open.

"Nicolai...your still in bed?" My father says, arms crossed over his chest.

"Uh...ya...I had a long night Dad, what's the big deal?" I say opening the door a little wider.

My father shakes his head and strides into my room. He looks me up and down, "Put some clothes on. And why is there a runt in your bed?" He says gesturing to a sleeping Breese.

I get some clothes on an sit on the edge of my bed facing my Alpha. "I like fucking the little ones." I say jokingly.

"Nicolai." My father warns. "You should be focusing on trying to find your mate. Not sleeping around with runts." He scratches his head. "How is Quinn?"

"He's fine. Very quick learner, like I said he'd be, and he's getting used to his new diet." I say proudly.

"Good. Maybe he'll be worth the trouble."

I scowl silently. Hating my father and wishing he could be a different man.

"We'll alright then. Get that pup out of your bed and come join us for our morning meal." Alpha said.

I nodded and watched him leave my room before running to flip the lock on my door. I jumped back into bed with my naked red headed boyfriend and cuddled up to him.

"Your dad is going to kill me if he ever finds out." He says quietly.

"Bree...how long have you been awake?" I ask.

He rolls over so he can lay on top of me. "Since your dad knocked on the door. It was really loud."

I twisted a strand of his hair in my fingers, "I'm sorry he woke you up." I said, then planted a big kiss on his forehead.

"He smiled, "Why can't you be someone else's son? Someone who wouldn't be noticed so we could be in love and not have to be so afraid all the time?"

I tilt my head, thinking of a life where we could just be us. A life were I wasn't the heir. "Who ever is up in the sky is looking out for us, I know it. Why else would we be paired together?" I say.

Breese laughs and rests his head on my shoulder.

Valentine

The hiccups woke me up. At first they were little jumps in my throat and now, five minuets later, they're uncomfortable leaps in my diaphragm.

My whole body jerks with each hiccup. I sit up and try to hold my breath. It useless-even while not breathing my body is hiccuping.

The bed shifts, Quinn is awake. I try one last time to shush myself but the loudest hiccup yet escapes me.

Quinn laugh out loud. I feel my face and neck burn. I don't need to be degraded any more.

"Oh come on. It's cute. Everyone gets the hiccups Val." He says, his voice light and bouncy.

He sits up in the bed with me and wraps his legs and arms around me. "Maybe I can get rid of them." He's says slyly.

His hands move towards my tender center and I stiffen. "Quinn..." I whine. "I'm sore and tired and I am not in the mood. Our honey moon stage is over. I finally have more control over my body and I really just want to relax today."

He laughed and laid back on the bed, "Fine, whatever you say."

I crawled out of bed and got dressed. I put on a grey t-shirt and some ripped jeans so no one could see my skin. I was feeling really paranoid about not being completely covered.

"Are you going somewhere?" Quinn asked playfully.

"Yes...actually I thought I'd go see my friends today. Some of them might be worried." I say. I really just wanted my life to go back to having no worries and not caring.

Quinn frowned, "Ok just be careful."

I walked out of the room an headed back to runt central. I swing open the door to our sleeping hall and find some guy I've never seen before. He's the whitest wolf I've ever seen before.

"Hey...who the hell are you?" I ask.

The white haired boy jerks his head up, surprised. He smiles, "I'm Rumor. I'm new here."

I nod my head and walk around him to my bed.

"What was your name?" Rumor asked, following me to my bed.

"Valentine." I say as I lay down on my furs.

"Ohhh your Valentine! I've heard a lot about you." Rumor says with a big grin.

"What is that suppose to mean?" I ask hostilely.

He backs up and puts his hands in the air, "Nothing, really. It's just that a lot of runts seem to hate you. Now I know that their just jealous of you."

Was that a compliment?

"Is this where you sleep?" Rumor says.

"Ugh, obviously, why else would I be here." I answer.

"Can I make my bed by yours? I don't really like where my furs were put earlier."

I grunt and nod my head. I wasn't very good at making friends, but that was mostly because I didn't think anyone would want to be my friend. Like Rumor said, not a lot of the runts like me.
