Chapter 16

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

QUINN

I ran through the forest and the abandoned town as fast as I could. When Xylo had showed up I froze up and didn't know know what I should do. I had this weird gut feeling that I needed to beat the shit out of the older male, but that feeling left me instantly when I remembered how much stronger Xylo was than me. I was still technically a pup, not even a year old yet, and how intimidating would a beast with a limp ear be? 

I was going to be pissed if that ear didn't straighten out soon. I know Nicolai finds it endearing but still... I don't want to be cute. I want to be strong and dominate. Especially after getting that taste of Nicolai's submission. Damn that was good. 

Who knew taking control of someone could give you such a rush? I never imagined topping Nicolai, but now I can't imagine ever bottoming for him. This need to take him again and again kept ripping through me. I had to stop myself three times from turning around and plunging myself deep into him.

Oh god, just the thought of taking him again, of making him ache, making him beg for me... 

I was loosing it. 

What about Valentine!?! Holy shit, Val! How could I've forgotten about my mate? 

Why was I even reacting to Nicolai if I already had a mate? WTF... Nico has a mate and he submitted to me. This is so wrong... Nicolai is the one who made me, shouldn't I be the submitting to him? No, I'm his Bloodrem! Neither one of us should be submitting to each other. What is happening?

I stopped right in front of the hidden entrance that leads into the ground. I should just run. Leave Nicolai so he can be Alpha and have Breese and not have to worry about me. The Alpha cannot submit to anyone. Not even a mate. 

But...then why would his Alpha blood allow him to do so for me?

"Hey Q-man, Jeez I have been looking everywhere for you and Nico." Juxo says, startling me out of my daze. 

I stood tall on two legs in my wolf form. From the look I was getting from Juxo, I knew I probably looked creepy. I shifted into my human form hoping my body wasn't showing any sign of what I had just done with Nicolai. 

"Hey Juxo." I said casually. "Sorry, I was thinking." 

He nodded his head, "So, where is Nicolai anyway? Didn't you two go hunting together?" 

"Ya, He stayed back to talk with Xylo. Said it was private or something." I said, hoping I didn't sound suspicious. 

"Oh, ya the Alpha family is always so secretive. Maybe they'll let you in on the conversations since your Nicolai's Bloodrem." He shrugged, "Come on, lets go hang with the others till Nicolai gets back."

I nodded and followed after him. 

I could never leave Nicolai, the loss of his Bloodrem would be heart-breaking. But so would the loss of becoming Alpha...

Valentine

Rumor followed me through the runt house. He's been asking me questions and trying to get me to talk to him all day. Ever since I allowed him to bed next to me he hasn't left me alone. He keeps talking about how important it is he gets a mate before he turns eighteen.

I couldn't give a shit. I wish I didn't have a mate to deal with. But then again, I wish my mate was with me right now. 

To bad i'm not from a royal family like Rumor. It's normal for all the royal runts to be mated. They apparently have a strong bloodline and it's less likely for them to have runts as children. Even though that isn't a worry for Rumor since he's a male and obviously can't get pregnant.
