I rolled over on my side so I could stare at the small werewolf beside me. I couldn't help but admit that I was attracted to him. And I really wasn't okay with that feeling. I have never once given it
thought about doing it with another guy. That just wasn't me. But now I'm feeling like a completely changed person. It's only my second day for crying out loud!
I suddenly noticed how hungry I was. My stomach felt like it was about to consume itself if I didn't get some food in me fast. I got up and slid my pants back on. Then I picked a shirt from the clothing rack and walked to my door. I peaked my head out and said, "Hey you! Uh...Mr. Guard sir, can I get some dinner brought up for the two of us?"
The guard looked at me with humor, "Of course, Quinn." Then he turned and walked down the hall.
I shut the door and turned around to find my nameless runt awake. He was propped up on his elbows, starring at me like I was insane.
"What?" I ask him.
"What did you just say to the guard?" He asked quietly.
"For some food to be brought up for us. It's like nine O'clock and we haven't eaten dinner. I'm starving." I say as I walk back over to my bed.
The runt lightly shook his head, "You can't do this. Higher rank wolves don't do this kind of stuff with runts. You aren't suppose to do this." He looked worried and started to get up.
"Wait, it's fine." I pulled him back down onto the bed. "Nicolai said I could do whatever I wanted with you. Now I'm starving and I'm sure you are to. So you'll eat with me and enjoy it. It's not like its a date, we're just eating some dinner and then you can leave." I say.
The runt nodded his head with a frown shaping his lips. I took a deep breath and tried to figure him out. What could be dangerous about this?
"What's your name?" I ask him.
He screws his face up in a knot and starts shaking his head again. "It not suppose to matter to you. Why don't you get that. Our relationship is never suppose to become anything more than sex. No names, no details, no nothing." He pulls the blanket farther up his body.
"You know my name though." I say.
"Well ya, of course I do. Everyone does. It's normal for us to know your names because your higher rank. Us runts don't really mean all the much to the pack. We're not as important." The runt sighs. "You have so much to learn Quinn. If your not careful your going to get the both of us in trouble."
"Why? Why can't we be friends or something? Is that really not allowed here?" I ask. What have I gotten myself into?
"Exactly! Your kind and my kind do not mix! We have sex and some more sex and that's it. That is our only interaction. No one wants a runt, we're pointless and weak and way too small for even rogues to attack us. Why is that so hard to understand!?!" His voice raises.
Then there's a knock at the door. It's probably our food so I get up to open the door.
"Don't let them see me Quinn. I'm lucky the Guard didn't say anything." He hides under the covers and try's to make it look like naturally lumpy blankets.
I open the door an retrieve the food. I set it down on the bed and the runt peaks out from his shelter. I start eating the chicken wings and rolls smothered with butter. It was delicious! Who knew I'd been missing out on these chicken wings. These monsters know how to cook.
Slowly the runt comes out from the blankets and joins me. We make small talk but he refuses to tell me his name. I tell him about my human life, what happened to my friends, how I've changed so much in all kinds of ways. I'm less sensitive already, more aggressive, and a butt load more curious. The runt just listens and plays with his hair. He occasionally adds in a few words but not much.
