I sat in class watching the blonde eyed, popular beauty present her presentation about saving animals. When she finished everyone clapped. The teacher stood up and looked me dead in the eyes. "(Y/n)-" before she could get anything else out somebody stood up. "I will go!" I looked over to see a tall, dark haired, and popular girl stand up. Her short curly dark hair complemented her eyes. She looked over to me and winked. As she walked up to the front she turned around and looked at me and mouthed, 'you owe me' and with that she began her presentation. When the bell rung I raced out of class. My heart started to race, and I could hear the beating in my ears. I ran behind the school and into the alley way when a group of guys came around the corner. My eyes widened as my air way started to give out. I can't breath, I thought as I threw my hands above my head taking deep gasp of air. The guys looked at me as I walked back and forth trying to grasp on to as much air as I could. Tears streamed down my face as they stepped closer. "Are you okay?" One of the guys asked. I shook my head no and one of them placed there hand on my shoulder. I turned around and hugged him as he held me in his arms. I started to ball my eyes out and my head pounded with a huge headache. "Go get somebody!" The guy said as his friend scrambled around. It felt like hours but the boy came back with somebody. I closed my eyes shut and started to feel myself pass out. That's when I was pulled from the strong grasp of the boy and into a strong but soft grasp. I tried to open my eyes but I knew if I did the attack would get worse. The person whispered in my ear. "I am going to move your arms up to your head.....you will slowly but deeply breath through your nose and out of your mouth...okay I'm going to move your arms now, when I tap your shoulder you will breath." The girl that spoke so softly into my ear moved my arms up slowly, she then tapped my shoulder and I tried to steady my breath. I could feel her soft, gentle touch leave my arms and my breathing started up again. "Breath...it's okay I'm still here." I took a deep breath in and out and felt myself calm down. "Keep your eyes closed and imagine something, or someone who makes you happy." I did as she said and kept my breath steady. I felt her hands leave my hand and I kept going. "I'm going to get a teacher, you stay her with her." I opened my eyes and sat up. I met the eyes of the girl that helped me. Her Ivey green eyes struck my soul. Her long brown hair was pulled back, she walked up to me an place her hand on my shoulder. "You okay?" She asked as she pulled me up from the ground. I nodded my head and smiled at her. "Thank you." She nodded her head and helped me up.
(Maihua's pov) I watched as (y/n) smiled at Penelope. I sighed and turned around and walked home. That was supposed to be me, I thought as I walked home. I got to my apartment and threw myself on my bed. I laid there knowing that I helped my crush with her panic and she won't even know it was me. I sighed and closed my eyes. Letting myself forget I fell asleep.
(You) I got home quickly and laid down on my bed, thinking about the girl that helped me. Her voice was so soothing and her touch...wow her touch was amazing. I sat there for the longest time thinking about her. Falling asleep with her voice on my mind.
I sat up and looked around my room when I saw the girl that took my presentation spot. They both stepped forward and smiled at me. "I'm Maihua..." The girl with shirt, curly, brown hair said. She sat down next to me and continued to smile. She moved closer enough to whisper in my ear. "You owe me."
I sat up with a jolt. I could feel a light blush kiss my face. I shook my head and stood up trying to forget about the dream. I looked at myself in the mirror and decided today I was gonna ask that girl if she wanted to be friends, so I put on a cute outfit.

(Time skip!) I stepped through the school doors and felt a sharp pain go through my body. "Please just let me get through one day." I begged my anxiety, but it had other plans. I took a deep breath in and out trying to calm myself. I sat against the wall and started to feel myself tear up. My breathing got worse. I felt that amazing feeling touch my shoulder and I looked up to see... Maihua. She smiled at me and grabbed my hands as she placed them above my head. I felt my hands shake uncontrollably and I pulled my hands down. "I..I can't." I said through sobs. Maihua stood us up and hugged me. She hugged me all the way to a car. She sat me and her in the back seat and she let me hug her hand cry. "Breath...do it with me." As she took a deep breath in I did the same. I followed her motion until she spoke again. "Now think of the trees, and the wind softly blowing in your face." I couldn't think of anything, the voices wouldn't let me. "Think of someone who makes you happy." I couldn't, why couldn't I think! Tears streamed down my face. Maihua hugged me and whispered calmly in my ear. "Forget what the voices in your head are saying, think with me okay." I nodded my head as she placed her hand on my head. "What do they look like?" I know who I like but right now was not the time to think. I took a deep breath in and spoke. "It's you." I said as I felt the air come back to me. I the voices disappeared, and I whipped the tears away. I don't know what it is about her but she makes everything better. "sorry." I said looked down. "It's okay...when I say find someone who makes you happy it's because I do the same thing when I get anxiety..." I sat back as she spoke. "Who is this person?" She turned red and looked away. "You." I looked at her and she looked at me. "Well we can be anxiety buddies." I said laughing a bit as I whipped the rest of my tears away. "Actually I would like to be more than buddies." I looked at Maihua and smiled at her. "Let's get to know each other more before we go jumping into the deep end." She smiled at me and connected our hands. "I like that."
