It emerges from nowhere
And yet, still there
It is with fire for hair
And ice for a stare,
Creeping up behind their
Backs, beware!
I want to shout but it will scare
Them so I don't dare
Lest they run into the nightmare
That is the being from nowhere.
So, I stand, I watch, I bare.
I act like I don't care,
As though the being there
Is normal, and not a rare
Beast to tear
Their skin apart like a pair
Of scissors cutting hair,
As easy as slicing the air.
I wish it were that easy to snare
The dreadful being from nowhere.
This is a perilous affair
But I need to save them so, I swear
To my consciences, I'll make their
Lives be safe and I'll spare
Them the fear that I won't share.
And a hero's badge I'll wear
For making them aware
Of the monster only I can glare
But I promise it's still there.
I do not imagine the being from nowhere.
Since only I can see it is fair
That I must be the flair
To distract the predator there
So after I declare
What might be my final prayer,
I charge towards it like a mare
Whilst growling like a bear
So it will come for my derriere
But its focus does not impair.
People whisper- I don't care.
I'll act the fool to cease the being from nowhere.
Since I can't distract or ensnare,
My hope begins to pare.
Time for Plan B: I square
Up with it unsure of how I'll fare
Since I'm no hunting extraordinaire.
I'll let it chase me anywhere
Away from those it seeks to snare
But I'm too late there is a blare
Of screams, I'm forced to watch with despair
As they vanish into the air,
Disappearing into the lair
Of the ruthless being from nowhere.
