Dalia's POV
I was going to Miles' work today.
I had the day off and offered to bring him some lunch. I was expecting a "yeah, sure! i'll meet you out front." but instead i got a full list of where to park, which person to tell who I was and who I was visiting, and the floor on which his office was.
Excessive, much?
After parking in what it looks like a deserted parking garage with only 3 other cars, I pulled out my phone and texted that I was on my way in.
His office building, 'Calo Law firm' , was a tall building in the middle of the city with ceiling to floor windows everywhere. I could see people walking around with papers, sitting at desks, and big conference rooms. The only floor with darker windows was the very top one.
that must be his floor?
When walking in, I took a minute to scan around, addressing the atmosphere I was in. I started to question if I was underdressed but pushed the thought away as I didn't work here.
After going to the front desk and following the instructions Miles sent me, the young girl at the desk handed me a sticky note with a four digit code on it.
"Here. Press the 27th floor and then punch in this number on the keypad when prompted."
She seemed kind of... snarky? As if I didn't belong here entirely and needed security to come throw me out immediately.
Despite this, though, I grabbed the note, said a quick 'thank you' and made my way to the elevators.
There was 6 of them. Jesus fucking christ.
I hopped in the one that was vacant and pressed the button to the 27th floor- which was, as i assumed, the last floor in the building.
Why the hell did I need a code?
Again, silver spoon... being excessive. Classic business- man behavior.
I rolled my eyes at the internal thoughts and checked myself in the mirrors of the elevator.
Oh, yeah. the 2 of the walls in here was mirror. The other side matched the rest of the building and was clear glass.
When the elevator stopped at the imputed floor, a automated voice came over the speaker and asked for the code. I typed it in with the small keypad on the wall above the elevator numbers and the doors opened.
I was expecting multiple offices, and maybe one big one which belonged to him but this floor was just one big office. Miles' office.
The floor was white marble and the furniture was all black. There was also floor to ceiling windows, however you could see they were tinted.
I walked through the small hallway- where i passed two doors named 'Kitchen' and 'Bathroom' before it opened up to his 'office'.
would I even call this an office? More like a whole ass apartment.
I mean, come on. There's a whole mini fridge and a little snack area out here. And a fucking couch!
After making it to his area, I looked to the right and saw him at a dark desk with papers sprawled out.
"Miles," He snapped his head up and gave me a small smile. "Hey. I have your food." I held up the bag in my left hand and returned the smile.
"Thank you." He leaned back and stretched his arms above his head and popped his back. As he did this his button up stretched over his stomach and showed the very prominent outline of his abs.
Sweet marry and fucking joseph.
Not trying to be caught gawking like a school girl, I walked towards him and placed the bag on his desk.
"As you requested," I placed the styrofoam box down which contained a chicken wrap with sweet potato fries.
"Did you already eat?" He begun opening the box as I continued placing down napkins. "Yes. I had their cheese fries."
He took a bite and held his hand over his mouth before looking up at me, "You know that's not really healthy."
"Hey! If you want this to work," i motioned in between us, "You're gonna have to let me eat as much junk food as I want."
I saw him smile and nod, before his smile dropped when he heard the elevator open.
"i swear to fuck if you don't give me that code i will literally get Hue on you" a female voice said, coming out of the elevator and into the office. "you hear me ass-
She stopped and made eye contact with me. She looked like Miles, from the dark hair that rested on her shoulders, and even the same signature suit. She had freckles that dusted her cheeks and dark green eyes.
She raised an eyebrow, smirked, and looked at Miles. "who's this?" Miles stood up with a sigh and whipped off his mouth. "Kathrine, meet Dalia."
she kept the same smirk on her face and looked back at me. She walked down the three steps from the entry and now stood in front of me. "why. aren't you a pretty thing" she reached out and put a piece of my hair back behind my shoulder.
"katherine" Miles said harshly. she laughed at this, and turned her attention back to Miles. "oh, brother. i'm just admiring her" "she's mine. don't even think about it."
i scoff and step away. "woah, okay. i'm currently my own person" Kathrine raised her eyebrow and turned towards Miles, who was now smirking.
"Damn. she's a feisty one. totally better then any of your other ones"
