Dalia's pov

"damn. she's a feisty one. better then any of your other ones."

"well, i hope i am." their heads snap towards me and i smile. Miles cleared his throat and came around the desk towards Kathrine. "What do you want?" "well, do you mean, lust wise... or...?" she looked me up and down.

"you know what i mean" she sighed and sat on the couch. "daisy and greg are beating us in numbers again. we can't let them pass us! it'll be the end of the company."

i raise a eyebrow as Miles looked at me. "Greg's my cousin. He recently got engaged to Daisy and they've gotten all the attention since." "and i have a plan to help us," Kathrine smirked and stood up. She walked in between me and Miles and looked us over. "y'all need to fake date. ever since since you stopped going out with your whores, our numbers went down."

i gasped and looked at Miles, completely baffled at the request. Why were they treating me like some kind of business deal?

Miles sighed and shrugged, "it's up to you, Dalia." i gulped and looked in between Kathrine and Miles. "I mean- I-" I sighed and fiddled with my fingers. "Miles. I'm not some kind of business deal, okay?"

Miles walked forward and took my hands in his, "I know, I know. You really don't have to if you don't want to. I would hate to make you feel that way."

I looked at Miles' sincere look and then looked over his shoulder at Kathrine, who was completely engrossed in her phone. "It would really save your company?"

He sighed and nodded, "Publicity is a huge thing in the business world. You never hear of businesses here without some popular CEO, right?"

I nodded, and thought for a moment.
If i say no, me and Miles could go our own pace and not have to fake it all. However his company would fall.
If i say yes, I would probably be used like a trophy for god knows how long. I would still get miles, but at what cost?

"For how long?" Kathrine spoke up and Miles stepped away from me, turning towards her for an answer. "Until they get married. So for.... a couple of months."  I look down and nodded.

"Okay. I guess." She clapped her hands together once and walked back in between us. "Great! Y'all begin tonight. Go out to dinner and flirt. Bye losers!" Kathrine yelled and walked back to the elevator before stopping and turning around.

"The code, brother."
"Never going to happen."
She turned around with a huff and held up her middle finger before stepping into the elevator and sending me another smirk.

"Well, I should get back to work." He walked around behind his desk and sat down. "Wait, Miles?" He looked up with a blank face, "Are we- what will happen to us?"

He sighed and clasped his hands together on the desk, "We're still... whatever we are, Dalia. Our publicity relationship will just be a cover up for now. But it does not change a thing between us."

"So. where are we going to eat?" I ask as Miles made a turn into the city. "je t'aime" I raise an eyebrow and smile shockingly. "French, huh? So these public outings will be all fancy?" He chuckled and pulled into a parking spot. "Sadly, yes. It's the only way for people to see us."

"How come no one sees us when we go out any other time?" He put the car in park and turned it off before turning towards me. "Notice how they're all away from this area?" I nodded and looked out the window at the flashing paparazzi lights.

Miles got out of the car and came around to my side. He opened the door before helping me out- placing a hand on my lower back and ushering me towards the lights.

Once we were noticed, we begun being swarmed by paparazzi. I swear to the gods I was almost blinded by the lights. If it wasn't for Miles' hand still on my back guiding me to the entrance I would have tripped and fallen and probably shown the whole world my ass.

Once inside I took a minute to rub my eyes the best I could without messing up my makeup and mumbled, "Faranno meglio a darsi una mossa prima che gli ficchi una macchina fotografica nel culo."

Once my vision came back, I looked up at Miles and saw a shocked expression mixed with a smirk.

Can he stop smirking? We're not in a romcom.

"Italian?" I chuckled and nodded, "Yeah. My family is."

"ah, mr. Calo. nice to see you again." the hostess at the front brought us both back to reality as we looked at her. She looked down at me and raised an eyebrow. "ms. fallon. love the new look. very... different." my smile falls and my cheeks got rosey. "oh, sorry but i'm Dalia. i'm mr.Calos-" "Girlfriend. She's my Girlfriend."

The hostess eyes got big and her cheeks turned the color of mine. She cleared her throat, "please follow me." I smile up at Miles awkwardly before following her.

Once seated I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding.

"That was good. You did good." I smile as the waiter came to us and asked for our drinks of the night. Miles ordered for both of us, which I rolled my eyes at.

Maybe my eyes will get stuck with how many times i've been rolling them?

When we got our drinks, Miles held one in the air and smiled, "To your first day on the job."

I chuckled and clinked our glasses together before taking a sip. "So. This whole... arrangement." I started, "Are we still going to go on dates alone? Like before?"

He tilted his head side to side before answering, "Yes. However for the time being I think we need to go out like this more then those dates."

I nodded slowly. "Think of it as a contract." I raised an eyebrow, "A contract?"

"Yes. We're acting like this out solely for publicity. Almost like an advertisement for a company." He placed his arm around me and pulled me closer.

I squinted my eyes and shook my head, "No. I refuse to be called a contract or compared to an advertisement."

He furrowed his eyebrows and backed away a little. "I mean we're still the same us right? Except just... more touchy and affectionate. Like if we were actually dating."

"And what do you think about that?" "About what?"
"us dating. For real."

I took a deep breath in and looked into his eyes, trying to see if this was a trick question or not.

"I like that. I want that. But not like this. I do not want to officially date you until this is all over. I don't want you having to... preform asking me out, you know?"

He smiled slightly and nodded. "I can work with that."
