Dalia's pov

"A lake house, hm?" I heard his chest rumble behind me which made me smile. "Glad to see you made it, Mr. Kalo." He sighed and sat next to me on my apartments patio where I spent my time painting or sketching.

"I was caught up at work. Did you see the news articles about us?"

I shook my head and kept my eyes on the canvas, focusing on the various shades of browns on the dock i currently finishing up.

"well, our faces are plastered everywhere. The company's numbers have skyrocketed and your little stunt is to thank." I smiled lightly and nodded, "Did Kathrine like it?"

I heard him hum, "Yes. She was happy for the company. She actually talked you up quite a bit."

There was then a moment of silence between us, of just my brushed against the canvases and the birds chirping and the bugs singing their sunset song.

"Why were you late?" He sighed once more and looked up. "Contracts, love. Many many needy clients that needed to be attended to."

I kept my eyes on the canvas but mumbled, "well what if i'm needy?" I heard him take
in a deep breath before looking back at me. "oh?" I stayed silent but felt a small tug at my lips.

I don't know what had me acting this way.
I think it was the news articles and knowing now that it was publicly known to other women that this man was mine.

sure we might not be actually married, or even dating, but i could at least give them the benefit of the doubt.

"Dalia," I hummed and raised an eye brow, still not looking at him. I felt if i were to look at this man he would make my brain go fuzzy and stop working for a few hours.

"Look at me." and when i did, when my eyes met his, i was willing to throw this painting across the patio and let this man whisk me away for ever.

His eyes scanned my face for a minute before narrowing, "Don't play games, now." I smiled and shrugged, "Who said i'm playing games?"

I begun cleaning up my art and stacking everything in the box i brought before sliding it under my arm and holding the painting in one hand.

I began walking to the apartment back door before i stopped half way and turned around, "you coming?"

Without letting him answer, I began walking froward.

And after a moment I heard his chair scratch against the floor followed by hurried footsteps.
