Lazarus slowly makes his way into the church, limping along on his cane. He quickly notices how empty the broken down building is. He stops near the middle of the church's main walkway, in between broken pews on both sides.
"Hello?" Lazarus yells to a bit of an echo.
Silence follows and he starts moving closer to the altar. He notices that the cross is different. Instead of Jesus on the cross, it's a man in a white sheet and enclosed in a coffin.
"I know you're here. There's no point in hiding." Lazarus declares, continue to make his way down the aisle.
"What makes you think I was hiding?" the same voice from Martha's captivity says, before adding, "It's not like I was hard to find, was it?"
Lazarus considers the question for a moment, "You wanted me here. You left the phone on so I could track it and find you here... why?"
"To begin." the voice says from somewhere as it seems to echo through the church.
"Begin what?"
"The salvation." the voice responds from another place.
Lazarus looks around the room, trying to figure out where the voice is coming from as it speaks.
"Sorry, but I'm not really in need of saving." Lazarus pushes back.
"Oh I know, you've already been saved."
"Really? Because most people would say that I'm pretty much damned. Have been since I was born." Lazarus jokes.
"That's where they're wrong. You're the only one of us who doesn't need saving." the voice says, seeming to get closer.
"And why's that?" questions Lazarus.
Someone emerges from around a corner, revealing themselves to be, Taylor Morley, "Because you will save us all."
It takes Lazarus a moment to answer, "Morley, what the hell are you doing? You didn't seem crazy when I talked to you before."
"I hadn't seen the whole truth before. It wasn't until I heard that you survived that I saw the truth. Now I see what they mean." Taylor insists.
"They?"
A silence follows from Taylor before answering, "You're not ready for that yet."
Lazarus looks at him suspiciously, "Should you be keeping things from your savior?"
That makes Taylor smile, "It's not for me to tell."
This makes Lazarus angry, moving closer to Taylor, "What about where my sister is? Are you allowed to tell me that?"
Taylor lets the question hang there for a moment, "Of course. She is the reason we're here."
"I thought I was the reason we were here." Lazarus pushes back.
Taylor chuckles, turning his back on Lazarus and heads to an unassuming door, "Things are always more complicated than they seem."
After a few moments, Lazarus starts to limp his way to follow Taylor towards the door. Taylor opens the door and offers the entrance to him. Lazarus watches Taylor for a moment with his smile, before going in.
