Taehyung hugged Jin tighter.

"I can't breathe.", Jin teased.

"Jin, promise me something?", he asked pushing the other with the hands on his chest so that he can see his face.

Jin rubbed his eyes to look at the younger one, "To be with you forever?"

Taehyung kissed his wrist, "That you have to. You don't have another choice."

"Then?"

Taehyung intertwined his fingers with Jin's and kissed each of his fingers. His heart tugged as he could feel how bony they've become. "Promise me that you won't skip meals."

Jin winced, "But, my cheeks get – "

"Your cheeks are the cutest thing. Don't complain about them.", Taehyung growled and bit those said cheeks.

"I – I was bullied a lot for being chubby.", Jin said with his eyes closed drinking in the light kisses Taehyung placed on his hands.

Taehyung pulled him closer, "Don't let that affect you, Jin. If it gets bad, you'll try therapy, won't you?"

Jin nodded, "I will."

"I am sorry for triggering it. It was me, wasn't it?", Taehyung asked.

Jin shook a violent no. "No, I guess the break-up took me back to a dark place. But it is on me. I will eat better."

"I should've stayed back that night, Jin. I am sorry. Something that my mum said earlier that day scared me.", Taehyung said.

Jin waited for him to continue.

"My father has been abusive as long as I've known. But my parents were once in love. Their story was so similar to ours, Jin. And, then, my mother said that being an alcoholic and being a cheat ran in my paternal family – and that scared me the most. The whole idea of being in love only to have the heart broken eventually due to vices that I can't control scared me.

I projected my insecurities and spoiled what we had. I lost you because I was afraid of hurting you. I was afraid of losing you.

Sorry."

Jin remained silent for a few seconds. Then, "Pabo."

Taehyung chuckled, "Yeah, I was that. I wondered if there will ever be a solution to all of those problems."

"You'll find one.", Jin said confidently.

Taehyung smiled, "I already did. Your love, my silky prince, is my remedy."

"Yours is mine.", Jin whispered into his ear not before leaving a light peck on the space between his eyebrows.

A few seconds of comfortable silence followed. Then, "There was something I wanted to give to you that night.", Jin said as rummaged the pockets of his spilled pants to pull out the pastel blue box.

"Interlocked and forever.", he said as he put the bracelet on Taehyung's wrist.

"I love you so much, Jin", Tae's voice trembled as he kissed his nose, and trailed those along his lips and chin, while running his fingers adoring the silver chain.

"I love you more."

About 53890 hours later, Taehyung sat at their balcony carefully watering the purple-pink flower plant that he bought despite Jin's protests that it was too costly.

He could smell the blueberry pancakes that were being prepared for their anniversary.

"Tae! Did you turn off the AC?", he heard Jin yell.

Tae pouted. He forgot to. Again.

"Tae, why can't you turn it off at least once?", Jin whined, appearing at the balcony's door.

Tae sighed, "Tannie was still asleep. It is not my mistake that he woke up and left."

"Find a new excuse.", he said. "Yoongi and Hobi are coming over. He said he has good news."

Tae smiled knowingly, "Their adoption papers got through?"

"Yep. I guess.", Jin grinned.

Taehyung got up and kissed him, "I hope it happens before Jimin's wedding."

Jin nodded. "We'll have a flower boy or a flower girl. Now, go wash the utensils. I've a whole menu to cook for them."

Tae washed the soil off his hands and watched his husband diligently prep the ingredients.

And, in that moment of pure mundanity and nothingness, he fell in love again.
