~Third person POV (unless specified)~

"Todd. Please explain to me what exactly you're doing. I really don't understand." Larry sighed as he and Todd sat not far from the edge of the pond in the woods.
Todd sighed softly and didn't look up from the notes He was taking about the ponx. "I'm testing the water Lar. Here, take this jar and get some water from the pond." He said as he handed Larry a small jar.
"I know that much. But why are you testing the water?" Larry huffed as he took the jar and got closer to the water's edge to fill it.
"Because, I want to run tests on multiple water sources to see if there are any abnormal differences." Todd said and rolled his eyes.
"But why?" Larry asked softly as he handed the now filled jar back to Todd.
"Larry, why can't you ask this many questions in class?" Todd huffed and took his glasses off to rub his eyes. "I'm testing for differences because maybe the cult is putting something in the water sources around town. At this point I'm just grabbing at everything I can to try and get more information."
"Ooh." Larry chuckled softly. "Also, because it's to boring for me to even pay attention, let alone ask questions about the boring shit." He said as he laid back on the ground.
"It is not boring." Todd chuckled and elbowed him. "Maybe if you paid more attention you'd find it more interesting."
"I try! It's just to boring to pay attention to! My mind wanders and literally everything else is more interesting then the shit the teacher is talking about." Larry sighed and elbowed him back.
"Then how come your mind doesn't wander when me or Sal explain the same 'boring' stuff to you." Todd chuckled and shook his head.
"Because, you and Sal aren't as boring. Still boring shit but it's just easier when it's you guys, I don't know how to explain it." Larry shrugged.
Todd nodded and looked up as he heard footsteps and voices coming towards them.
"Who do you think that is?" Larry whispered as he sat up.
Todd shrugged. "Sounds like... Sal. And someone else, I can't tell who though." He said softly.
"I swear to God if it's Thottina again..." Larry groaned and laid back down.
"I doubt it. You seen how Sal got last time." Todd chuckled. "He went into defensive best friend mode just from her looking at you."
Larry chuckled softly. "That's true. Kinda scary for such a tiny dude."
"I heard that Larry." Sal chuckled as he and Ash walked towards them. "You dickmunch."
"That sounds pretty painful." Larry snickered.
Todd chuckled and shook his head as he looked up to say something to Sal before seeing Ash. "Ash! You're back!" He shouted as he stood up to go hug her.
Larry sat up and looked over at them. "Ash?" He mumbled as he stood up.
"Hey Todd!" Ash chuckled as she hugged Todd. "You guys have no idea how much I missed my boys!" She said as they broke the hug and she looked where Larry had been. Just to discover he was no longer there. "...Where'd Larry go?"
Sal sighed and crossed his arms. "I swear to God... This boy better not have run off again..."
"He better not have. I do NOT want to have to search for him again." Todd groaned as he turned around. "Lar! Where did you go?!" He called out.
Ash bit her lip. "What do you mean 'again'?" She asked softly.
Sal sighed and looked at her. "He walked off whenever you texted that you were gonna stay with your mom for awhile. Took me and Todd like three hours to find him." He said softly as the three of them started walking.
"I swear to God if he does that again I'm gonna kick his ass." Todd huffed before calling out Larry's name again.
"Lar! Come on dude!" Sal yelled. "We are not doing this again you buttnozzle!"
They continued walking around for awhile, calling out Larry's name before Ash stopped. "I think I know where he is."
"Hopefully you do. I've had enough of being outside." Todd sighed as he and Ash turned to follow her in another direction.
"Todd, remember the fort we built out her a few summers back?" Ash asked as they continued walking.
"Fort... Oh my fucking God that is probably where he is." Todd facepalmed. "I forgot all about that stupid thing."
"How come I was never informed of this fort?" Sal chuckled. "I bet it's awesome."
"Like Todd said, forgot about it." Ash chuckled softly. "I don't think I've been out to it since before you moved into the apartments."
"I haven't been out to it since the summer after we built it." Todd shrugged. "And I'm guessing that's where Larry hid last time we couldn't find him so we can guess the last time he's been there." He chuckled.
After a little more walking they got to a makeshift fort that definitely looked like it had seen better days.
"Larry I swear to God if this is where you've been this entire time." Todd groaned as he opened the door to the fort to see Larry laying on the floor asleep. "You dickhead..."
"I mean, at least we found him?" Sal asked and looked at Ash.
"True. Now, let's wake him up and get back to the apartments before it gets dark." Ash chuckled softly as Todd walked into the fort.
"Larry. Get your ass up." Todd huffed and lightly kicked the sleeping boy's leg.
Larry groaned and sat up, half asleep. "What is it Todd?" He mumbled, still not awake enough to remember where he was or why he'd run off.
"Lar. Do not make me kick you in the balls." Todd chuckled and kicked his leg again. "We've been looking for you for like half an hour you dick."
"Looking for me? What.... Oh." Larry said as he finally realized what was going on and stood up to wipe the dirt off of himself from laying on the ground.
"You got leaves and stuff in your hair again Lar-bear." Ash chuckled softly.
"Yeah..." Larry chuckled softly and looked at the ground.
"Can I have a hug Larry? Or are you gonna keep being mad at me?" Ash asked softly.
"Yeah... And I'm not mad at you Ash." Larry mumbled softly as he and Todd walked out of the fort and he hugged Ash. "I missed you dude."
"I missed you too Lar." Ash said softly as she hugged him back. "Now, let's all head back to the apartments before it gets dark." She chuckled softly as they broke the hug and all started heading back towards the apartments.
