~Third person POV (unless specified)~
"Mom. I am not apologizing to that dickwad AGAIN. I apologized once and it pained my very being." Larry huffed and looked over at Lisa, who was currently driving.
"Larry Johnson. Stop being dramatic, it did not 'pain your very being' to apologize to that man." Lisa chuckled softly.
"It did! It physically hurt to apologize to him." Larry laughed. "It hurt so bad I thought I was just gonna fall and convulse on the floor."
Lisa laughed softly as she playfully smacked Larry. "Enough mister. You're gonna play nice while we're here." She chuckled as she parked outside the church and got out of the car. "Remember to put your hair up as well. We don't need you getting the sealing putty stuck in your hair."
"I know mom." Larry chuckled softly as he got out of the car and grabbed a hair tie out of the glove compartment to put his hair up as Phelps walked out of the church to greet them.
"Why hello again Ms. Johnson. Thank you so much for coming." Phelps said softly as he walked up to them.
"It's no problem at all Father." Lisa replied and smiled at him.
Larry scrunched up his face as he grabbed his tool belt from the back seat along with Lisa's to hand to her.
(A/N: I have never actually fixed a window and I don't remember much from watching one getting fixed so I'm going by what I remember. Also, I know they probably don't need the whole fuckin tool belt. They just have them ok lmao.)
"Here mom." Larry said as he handed Lisa her belt. "I'll grab the putty and gloves out of the trunk."
"Thanks Lar-bear." Lisa chuckled as she took the belt from him and put it on.
"Mooooom." Larry groaned as he opened the trunk. "Whyyyyy?"
Phelps chuckled softly and shook his head as he and Lisa started walking to the side of the church with Larry not far behind.
"Anyway, it's only the two on this side." Phelps explained. "I think it happened when someone was mowing the grass the other day."
Lisa nodded and looked at Larry. "You take one, I'll take the other?"
"That works." Larry nodded as he set the can of putty down and pulled on his gloves. "We only have one spreader thingy though."
"Ok... I'll fix this one first then you can fix second?" Lisa offered.
"Yeah. That works ma." Larry chuckled softly. As he handed her the spreader.
(I don't think that's what it's called but I don't care enough to look it up.)
Lisa made quick work of removing and then replacing the window before handing Larry the spreader as her phone started to ring. "Oh... um I'm gonna go answer this." She said softly as she looked at her phone and smiled.
"Alright mom." Larry chuckled as Lisa walked off to talk in private.
Phelps raised a brow and looked between Lisa's retreating figure and Larry. "What exactly was that?"
"My mom going to talk to Sal's dad." Larry replied as he started to fix his window.
"Ah... I see." Phelps said before leaning against the side of the church.
Larry rolled his eyes and sighed. "You don't have to sit out here you know? You can go do... whatever it is you do on a daily basis."
"I am well aware that I don't have to sit out here. I am just choosing to." Phelps replied with a small chuckle and looked at Larry. "Is my presence making you nervous?"
Larry scoffed and looked at him. "I am the exact opposite of nervous. I just was making a statement." He huffed as he finished the window and held it in place for a moment to let it dry a bit so it wouldn't fall out while drying the rest of the way.
(Again I have never fixed a window so I have no idea if this is what is actually done.)
"Why do you always have to answer with so much attitude Johnson?" Phelps asked as he crossed his arms.
"Because you always ask stupid questions or say something stupid so of course I'm gonna have an attitude." Larry replied.
Phelps raised a brow and shook his head. "You're such an angry child."
"Not angry. Just annoyed." Larry sighed. "Can you just, shoo? Go bug... Jesus or something."
"Go bug Jesus?" Phelps laughed and looked at him.
"Yes. Go bug Jesus." Larry said as he took his hands off the window carefully to test if it would stay on it's own before grabbing the sealing putty and other things off of the ground.
"You do know what just came out of your mouth right?" Phelps laughed and shook his head.
"Uh, yeah? I said it twice." Larry said as he stood back up and started to walk to take the things back to the car. "I'm going to use the church's bathroom when I come back. Unless you are gonna bar me out." He said over his shoulder as he walked to the car.
"Use it all you like but don't touch anything." Phelps said as he walked into the church.
" 'Don't touch anything.' Right then, I won't flush." Larry chuckled softly as he put the stuff in his arms in the car and told Lisa what he was doing before walking back to the church and going inside.
