"Dunk toss!" Andrew said, pretending to shoot a basketball at a tall guy on stilts. "Hey, dude!" He yelled, high-fiving a clown. Sebastian shook his head. It was too early for Andrew's antics.
"I will cut you, man." Toby said to the clown, moving his hand toward the pocket of his varsity letterman jacket. The jackets turned out to be a thing that Illyria was known for. Duke, Toby, and Andrew all had theirs on. They had questioned Sebastian on the location of his when he remembered Olivia had stolen it the night before. The guys shrugged it off, Duke even more than the other two. Maybe he was finally getting over Olivia. Sebastian only prayed.
"I'll tell you the truth. I never really liked carnivals." Sebastian spoke up for the first time since they had arrived. He shoved his hands into his pockets as he saw the beautiful blonde in his letterman jacket approach the boys. He had to admit, the black dress matched his jacket well. He smiled when he saw she actually was wearing it while Andrew elbowed him suggestively. Sebastian playfully shoved the boy as Olivia walked over.
"Hey boys. Mind if I borrow doofus here for a second?" The three boys shook their heads as Olivia smiled, grabbing Sebastian and pulling him off to the side.
"Doofus? Whatever happened to hero?" He asked jokingly as she giggled, taking off his jacket.
"You haven't saved me yet today." She joked back, holding out his jacket to him. "I thought you may want this back. I know all the guys are wearing theirs." Sebastian shrugged, shaking his head.
"It's kind of cold. Don't want you freezing to death. And, you look better in it anyways." He said, smiling.
"Okay, maybe you are my hero." They both laughed as she pulled the jacket back on. The two looked into each other's eyes and both figured what the other was thinking. The kiss last night. Well, kisses. What did they mean?
"Yo! Sebastian Hastings!" He heard as he looked over to see the three boys waiting for him. Duke was glaring at him. Guess he wasn't over Olivia completely.
"I'd better go." He said, nodding his head to the guys.
"I'd better see you at the kissing booth later, Hastings."
"Long as you aren't wearing my jacket when you are kissing other guys, then okay."
"Hey, you're the only one I want to kiss." Sebastian grinned as he looked over to the guys. Thankfully, his wonderful sister was talking to the three boys, Sebastian assumed about soccer.
"Good. Because I'd hate to beat some guy's ass." Sebastian said seriously as Olivia laughed at his protectiveness. He leaned down, kissing her quickly as she smiled.
"I'm going to be late." She mumbled against his lips as he shrugged, wrapping his arms around her waist. She kissed him back, wrapping her arms around his neck. He pulled away, smiling knowingly.
"Just remember that when those fools are kissing you."
"Trust me, I won't be able to forget." She leaned up, kissing his cheek as she pushed him away playfully, walking away. Sebastian walked back over to where his siblings and friends were standing. He could see Viola and Duke engrossed in their own conversation, he didn't know what of. His sister checked her watch as her eyes widened.
"Hey. I'm working the kissing booth. Come see me later?" She asked Duke as Sebastian gave him a look. Duke nodded, biting his bottom lip. Viola smiled, walking away.
"I love carnivals, man." Duke said as he came back to Earth. Then he realized who he was talking to and he blushed dark red. Sebastian laughed.
"Don't worry about it. Just don't get too carried away." Sebastian warned.
