"Dean we aren't going to catch up to her, we've been driving for miles and we haven't seen her yet just slow down."
"Sorry Sammy, No can do. Something is off about her and I'm going to find out what it is. Since when do you give up on a hunt anyway?"
"This isn't a hunt, Dean, it's a hunch. " Suddenly the car veered off the road and came to a stop next to a line of trees suprising Sam who then looked at Dean shocked.
"Yeah well I'm not taking any chances okay? If I'm right we gank a monster and if I'm wrong we just have a nice little chat with a chick and her kickass car. But if you have a problem with that by all means..." Dean retorted a little too sharply as he gestured to the passenger door. Sam looked puzzled at Dean as he was blowing this out of proportion. "Wait forget what I just said Sam" Dean got out of the car and walked toward the trees as Sam stared through the windshield at him with a blank and confused look as a result of Dean's extreme mood change.
Dean's POV
Tired of hearing Sam nag the entire way so far, I pulled over. "Yeah well I'm not taking any chances ok. If I'm right we hank a monster and if I'm wrong we just have a nice little chat with a chick and her kickass car. But if you have a problem with that by all means..." Out of the corner of my eye I saw something, a flash of movement. Then through the open window a distinct smell reached my nose. "Wait forget what I just said Sam." I got out and walked around the car not shutting my door to avoid making noise. I walked cautiously toward the tree line as I drew my gun. "Dean wait up. What is it?" Sam said as he approached me. "I'm not sure. I think I saw something. Do you smell that?" I whispered then told Sam to be quiet and follow me. I stopped short when we came through to a clearing.
Well well well, if it isn't little miss ponytail.
I gave Sam an I- told-you-so look. Standing there in the clearing arms crossed, she looked shaken up. Finally I could put a face to her. In the beam of my flashlight I saw her piercing blue eyes. They were like ice, hard and cold. There was a look in them I recognized yet could not fully define.
"Don't move." I shouted sternly while keeping my gun aimed at her heart.
~end of Dean's POV
I heard the car approaching, the arguing voices, the cracking of roadside gravel, breaking of twigs underfoot, but after all these years of hunting I had no answer. I didn't move, I felt like a caged animal but I couldn't bring myself to draw my gun. In truth I think part of me wanted to be caught. I was so tired of it all, maybe I even had a death wish. A shiver went down my spine when they finally broke through the trees. I was suddenly blinded by a bright beam of light followed with the command of "don't move." There I was in a rare position; no plan, no words, just adrenaline coursing through my veins and a shiver running up and down my spine.
