A New Beginning (Shawn Mendes FanFic)

Chapter 21

Ariana’s POV

Shawn and I are going back home today, we are in the car setting out for the long drive back.

We stopped at a really old gas station on the side of the highway to get a bunch of snacks. I reached down into the bag and tore open some beef jerky. 

“How do you think this semester will be?” I asked him while attempting to chew the stuff, its almost impossible. 

“I think it’ll be much better, with the fact that you'll be my girlfriend starting the semester off.”He looked over at me with a smile. God he’s so cheesy, but I have to admit I love it. 

I reached over to give him a peck.

“I’m glad.” I said to him. 

I really was glad, it was hard starting out completely new, I had literally no friends. Then I met Shawn, he is easily one of the best things that have ever happened to me, as weird as it sounds, everything was weird without him now that I think back on it. I was sad before, I never had anything to look forward to. Now with Shawn, every time I’m about to see him, its like I'm a kid on christmas, running to the christmas tree and presents. 

We keep driving on until slowly we get closer to our city. The music is on and playing smoothly in the back. Its pretty relaxing. We pass by all the beautiful trees that are covered by the sparkling snow. 

Shawn starts humming along to the song thats playing which happens to be Riptide. The humming turns into singing. What I hear surprises me, I never knew he could sing. I turn to him, my mouth wide open. I can say with out a doubt I’ve never heard anyone sing like this before, its honestly incredible. He seems so lost in the music, I smile at how adorable he is. 

This boy never fails to amaze me, from being incredibly sweet, changing his bad boy ways, to being an amazing singer. Life is a roller coaster with him. 

The song ends and I take it as a chance to talk to him, “So my boyfriend can sing?” I ask as I turn to look at his amused face. 

“Your boyfriend can do lots of stuff” He winks at me. 

I laugh at his silliness. “Shawn your really good, like really good.” 

“You think so?” 

“Totally! You should start putting videos up on Youtube or something”

He laughs not taking me seriously, I frown at him, “You’re serious?” he asks confused. 

“Yes! Who knows, you might get discovered!” I encourage him. 

“I’m not sure I want to get discovered, I love my life right now.” he says reaching for my hand, wrapping his fingers around mine. 

Gosh we are such a cheesy couple. But I have to admit, I kinda love it. Its good knowing that we feel so strongly about each other.
