The next day I skipped school again. Markus, being the sweetheart he was, dropped me off at the park at my request. I didn' tell him I was going to be with Seven and Six, I didn't want him to worry or to attack Seven again.

"You sure you want to skip another day of school? Midterms is coming up pretty soon," Markus said. He leaned his head out the window to look at me. I waved him off.

"I've been feeling better. I just need this last day to collect the last of my scrambling thoughts," I tried to half lie, because part of that was true. I needed him to leave so I could finally get those answers I was looking for.

"Okay, call me if you need a ride back," he said. I smiled awkwardly at him, recalling what happened the night prior with my father.

"Can't, my phone was taken," I revealed.
"Don't worry about me, Markus. I'll just walk home."

"That guy hasn't been stalking you?" he asked. I gave him a reassuring smile, Seven's monotone voice surfacing in my head when I asked him the same question.

"He isn't following me," I looked at the watch on my wrist. "You should get going before the bell rings." I watched his car drive away. I sighed. How did someone as caring as him fall for someone as impractical as myself? I pondered the question as I walked to the park.

I found Seven sitting by the same tree where he and Six harassed me yesterday. His silver eyes were locked on the road in contempt. He looked like he had washed and combed through his hair. The wild black curls covered his forehead and shaded his silver eyes. I stood beside him, fascinated by how calm he looked.

"How long have you been waiting here?" I asked. I honestly expected to have to wait a few hours before they made an appearance. Seven surprised me with his presence.

"Not long, I just wanted to see the cars," he answered. I looked at him in curiosity. Had he never seen a car before?

"Why the cars?" I asked. "There's a lot to look at in the park. There's the pond or the flowers or trees."

"I like the cars because they're always moving without my help," he looked at me. "You wouldn't understand right now."

"When will I finally understand?" I asked. As much as I loved getting to know people, I was on a mission. If I was skipping school and potentially prolonging my punishment, I was going to make it worth it.

Seven rose to his feet and extended his hand, "Six wants us to get to ORNO as fast as possible. They do early morning practices outside."

"So we're gonna be out in the open where they could see us clear as day?" My tone made him scrunch his eyebrows together. I couldn't tell if it was from confusion or frustration.

"ORNO's surrounded by woods. We'll most likely be hiding behind a dead log," he said. "Don't worry, we have enough practice to not be seen."

"Isn't that reassuring," I said sarcastically. I wasn't sure if I wanted to trust Seven yet. He looked so similar to my stalker. What if he was my stalker, and this was all a trap. Would they have told me so much if it was a trap?

"Trust me, you'll be fine," his hand reached out, stopping just inches in front of mine. I looked at his hand. It was the same gesture as Eight, his brother, but Sevens approach seemed optional. I didn't have to reach out and grab his hand, he was giving me a choice. Maybe that's why I grabbed his hand and gave him my trust.
