{ Jude in Sidebar, Hi Guys sorry I haven't posted in a while but I will be posting a lot these past few weeks so make sure to vote and tell others about my book. Thanks !!  }

I continued to drive in the direction of the mental health institution, my stomach swarmed with butterflies. The worst-case scenarios seeped into my brain and invaded my thoughts. What if this was all a cruel joke ? What if I was just going to end up dead like my parents ? What if –

‘We’re not that far away now,’ Glaze stated staring down at the map placed in her lap. Her long, dark wavy hair spilled down her shoulders and just reached the curve of her hips. I focused on the road in front of me and kept my mind blank.

‘Turn right on this road and it should be – THERE!’ Glaze exclaimed, pointing towards an abandoned, dirty white building. I parked directly next to the building and stared from my window. Why would my parents ever come to this odd place ? Jude ran out of the car, nearly tripping over his own feet, a goofy smile stuck on his face. Glaze gave me a hopeful smile and exited the car too. I took a deep breath too and jumped out of the car too.

I opened the creaky, heavy doors to be welcomed with the waft of bleach and an almost hospital like smell. I looked around to see cobwebs and dust clinging to the walls of institution. This place was disgusting. I roamed the halls of the building and looked for anything suspicious or interesting. However, there was no such thing. I pulled the key of out of my back pocket and stared at it. Whatever this key opened to, it has to be important. I continued walking down the halls until I bumped into another individual. A high pitch shriek erupted from shadow and I clamped my hand over their mouth. My jade green eyes connected with dark chocolate ones. My hand covering her mouth muffled Glaze’s laughter. My hand slipped away and I joined in with her. I clutched my stomach and she did the same. Our amusement was cut short when Jude screamed, “I think I found something !!” Glaze and I looked at each other and then ran into the direction of Jude’s voice. Our runners scuffed against the tiles on the floor. We reached Jude whose eyebrow was cocked up and his hand stroking his chin. “I have come up with a theory.” He proposed and pointed towards a door. The door was old, wooden and had obviously been here for a decade. I walked up to the door and turned the knob. It was locked. I retrieved the key and inserted it into the lock, it opened. I pushed the door open and peered down to see a long, steep staircase. I looked to the others and pulled my phone out as a flashlight. I began walking down the steps and turned back around to see the other two frozen. There are eyes filled with fear. ‘You two coming?’ I smirked. Jude shook off and turned to Glaze. ‘Ladies first,’ he bowed. Glaze rolled her eyes and followed me.

        The only sounds the three of us made were the heavy steps and creaks of the staircase. My flashlight was bright and illuminated the whole room, however it was still quite scary. I reached the bottom of the staircase and was greeted with another door. However, this one did not have a keyhole but a number pad. ‘Jesus Christ, Your parents were freakin’ lunatics with this shit!’ Jude shouted. I stood there looking at the pad thinking what the code could be. The code was five numbers. I tried my birthday, my parent’s birthday, Vaughn’s death, I tried everything. I looked at the pad closer and saw that each number had letters as well. It hit me, DYLAN, 39526. I typed the numbers into the pad and the door unlocked.
