Hide and Seek

The last few months you've dedicated most, if not all your time to training. Sometimes even on your break week. You wanted to be one of the best and strongest guards for the Magne family. Burgs admired your dedication.

Today though, you were getting dressed in your casual outfit. You put up your hair in a low ponytail and looked in the mirror. Feeling satisfied, you go to the dining hall for your breakfast. 

Once you were in the dining hall, it was fairly empty, the only ones there were Burgs and Fenrir. You sat across from Burgs, still wary of Fenrir and his temper. You both exchanged your 'good mornings' and so on as you ate your breakfast, which was a bread bowl with bacon, scrambled eggs and potatoes with some veggies mixed in with the egg. 

"So what do you have planned today Miss (Y/n)?" Burgs said, trying to act all formal. You laughed, him trying to be formal like royalty was hilarious. It's like he was mocking them.

When you stopped laughing, you composed yourself again. "I'm going to be Charlie's playmate for a day." You were partly excited for the play date, Charlie was the first one you saw when you woke up here. And she's really cute, it's hard not to love her.

"The kid? She sure is a doll." He smiled softly. You nod and continued to eat your breakfast. The rest was fairly quiet, though eventually Burgs started talking about a new book he was reading in the library.

After you were one eating, you excused yourself and waved to Burgs as you left. 

You were walking down the hallway, thinking about what you would be doing with Charlie today. While you were walking, you spotted the Goat boys--Razzle and Dazzle--on the other side of the hall. You waved at them as you walked up. they looked at you happily. 

"Do you know where Charlie may be?" You asked them politely. They nodded and guided you to what you assume to be her room. You knock on the door and wait for a response.

"One minute!" You heard a childish voice call out. You smile softly at hearing Charlie's voice.

After a bit, the door opens and you look down. You see Charlie wearing a black dress and her hair up in a ponytail topped with a bow. She smiled brightly at you and her mother, Lilith stepped out of the room. 

"You two have fun now, okay?" She said sweetly, giving you a look of 'if you hurt my daughter I'm going to murder you on the spot'. Charlie nodded, taking your hand in her small one. 

"Come on! Let's play hide and seek in the garden!" She declared and dragged you, Razzle and Dazzle to the garden.

You've been here a few times before, it was the equivalent of the Garden of Eden. Just without Adam and Eve. It was gorgeous. You looked around and saw Thyton by the stream. She looked peaceful like this, not up tight or stern when shes in the training room or literally anywhere else.

Charlie walked up to her and called her name. Thyton looked up and smiled softly at her. They exchanged some words and Thyton shook her head. It seemed that Charlie pouted slightly then walked back to you and the goat boys.

"Thyton doesn't want to play with us. Maybe next time!" She said. She looked over the three of you and thought for a moment before pointing to you. "You're the counter! Turn around and count to ten!" She giggled. 

You turned away with a smile on your face. Her and the goat boys went off to hide somewhere as you counted to ten. You counted fairly slowly, so they would have enough time to hide.

When you got to ten, you turned around and opened your eyes. Now it's time to find them. Thyton wasn't in the garden anymore, she must've left when you were busy counting.

Looking around the stream, you spotted a light red tail behind a bush. You grinned and danced over, grabbing the tail, which earned a squeak from Razzle. You let him go and he came out from behind the bush.

"Are you going to help me find the others?" You asked him. He shook your head and sat in the grass by the stream. You put your hands on your hips and looked around, wondering everyone else would be hiding.

You walked to the center, beneath an apple tree. You looked around again, seeing if you could spot them hiding. But with no luck.

Suddenly you heard a tree branch snap and Dazzle comes falling down, flailing a bit before landing on his butt. You winced a bit, it sounded like it hurt. You crouch down to help Dazzle stand up and dust him off.

"Are you okay?" you asked. He nodded while plucking a twig from his fur. You watched him walk to his brother Razzle. 

Now it's time to find Charlie. She's sneaky and small. So maybe you would look in small places first. You checked an area in between some rocks by the stream, behind and between some bushes, and almost everywhere else you could think of.

There was one spot you didn't look yet, and it was a small bunch of trees at the edge of the garden. This area lead to a part of the city, but it's fenced off with a gate so no one but the guards and Lucifer could use it. To protect the estate from the denizens.

Looking around the trees, you didn't see Charlie at all. You were about to give up on looking for her when you heard giggling. It was quiet, but it was close enough to hear. She must be close by then. 

You walked a bit to pin point the giggling, it was coming from a tree towards the gate in the back. Looking up, you see platinum blonde hair and pale yellow eyes staring at you. You smiled. 

"How did you get up there?" You asked her. She smiled and hopped into your arms. You pulled a few leaves from her hair.

"I taught myself how to climb trees, to help Daddy pick apples when they're ready!" She hugged your arm as you walk back inside with the goat boys trailing behind you.

"Just be careful, okay?" You said and she nodded. You walked back to her room and put her down.

Charlie looked up at you and sat on her bed. "Would you like to braid my hair? I can braid yours when your done!" She beamed. You were a bit tired, but you weren't about to say no to the princess. You smiled softly and sat criss-cross on her bed, taking her bow out of her hair and you started braiding while humming a song.
