Royal Guard (Lucifer x Reader story)

Burgs heaved a big sigh. and turned off the TV, rubbing his forehead. "You're lucky that their majesty's don't watch Television. Let's hope they don't find out. For your sake." He shook his head on the way out of your room. He shut the door behind him.

You sighed, imagining what the Magne family would think about your antics if they ever found out. Hopefully it doesn't result in too much punishment, you only cause havoc on your days off after all.

Looking out the window, you saw that the red sky was getting darker, like a sunset. Maybe it's time to go to bed, you've had a long day out in town. You also needed to be fully awake and aware for your duties tomorrow.

(Next Day)

You woke up and started your normal routine, get dressed, eat breakfast with burgs and have idle chat then do some combat practice for a few hours. It was Merida's week with the family, so you didn't need to get all dressed up, which was always nice. You sometimes got tired of walking around in fancy clothes around hell. 

Breakfast was rather silent. You knew Burgs wanted to talk about your rising popularity in hell, you could tell by the look on his face as he ate. But something told you that he didn't want to bring you unwanted attention from the other guards. 

After you were done eating, you asked Thyton, the Naga, if she wanted to do some sparring with you. Since she normally trains by herself, you thought it would be a nice change for her. It also would be good mobility practice for you, since you've seen how fast her tail can move in combat, it was scary.

Thankfully, Thyton agreed on sparring with you today, but she also said that she won't do this regularly, as she really prefers to train on her own. You agreed to her terms and you both headed to the sparring room.

Sparring with Thyton was very worthwhile. Her attacks were always so precise and almost impossible to dodge, even with your regular training. Then again, you were more used to long ranged attacks with your halberd and she's using different varients of knives for close combat with her tail. 

Thyton did acknowledge your abilities and strength, which is very rare for her to do from what Burgs and Merida has told you in the past. You took the compliment at heart, and promised yourself that you would only become stronger, for your sake and the family.

You didn't really have anything else to do after your training this morning, though after you were done sparring, you went back to the mess hall to eat a small lunch. There weren't too many people there, most of them were other maids and butlers that also work here. You enjoyed the silence of the hall as you ate.

When you got done eating and were exiting the room, some of the others were entering. You even had to squeeze yourself against the wall to get past The brick wall that is Fenrir. You had no problem getting passed the others that were there. 

Not sure what to do now, you ended up roaming the halls for awhile. While roaming, you didn't really encounter anyone besides some housekeeping maids with clean and dirty sheets and pillows. The quiet was relaxing and welcoming  it gave you some time to think for a bit.

That is until you bumped into someone while you were deep in thought. You took a step back, to regain your senses. "I'm so sorry, I wasn't really paying attention to where I was going." You spoke as you looked up, your face slowly turned into apologetic shock as you realized who you bumped into.

A chuckle came from Lucifer as he watched your face turn into horror. "Oh my, have you seen a ghost?" His humor caught you off guard.

"Oh, uh, S-sir, I'm so sorry! I should watch where I'm going more, I didn't mean- I thought you were-" You became a stuttering mess the more you spoke, then Lucifer silenced you.

"Accidents happen, my daughter does it all the time." He smiled at you then changed the topic. "I'm glad that we bumped into each other, there's something I would like to discuss with you."

You went silent. Something to discuss? With his majesty? When did you get into trouble? A million thoughts crossed your mind at once while you nodded and followed Lucifer around the palace.

Lucifer stopped in front of a large door in an empty hallway to open it, revealing the room inside. It was a study. Notes, blueprints, books and other loose papers were scattered throughout the room. The only thing that was the least messy was the large desk  in front of a large window overlooking Pentagram city.

"Come in, don't mind the mess, it's how I work." He said, gesturing inside. You nodded and walked into the room quietly, making sure you weren't disturbing the floor mess too much.

He closed the door once he stepped inside and he proceeded to walk to his desk. All the while you kept your mouth shut, he was quite intimidating by himself.
