Chapter 25
I sighed and continued to twist my sparkling diamond ring absentmindedly. Derek smiled at me and plunged his hands into my hair; I pushed my cheek into his hand with a soft purr.
"What time is it?" Carl growled
"About two minutes after you last asked," Bryce said flatly
"Which makes it twelve minutes past eleven." Daniel clarified. I smiled again at Derek he reached out and wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me up onto his lap. I smiled and cuddled down into his chest with a contented sort of sigh. The boys were all on edge waiting for Bethany to call with her instructions. In contrast Derek and me seemed perfectly content as we were just together now so I was hoping that Bethany would actually never call.
"She should have called by now." Daniel said firmly,
"Yeah well she hasn't." Carl said pointlessly,
"She's just playing her game she'll call when she's ready." Bryce said pointlessly. Derek tightened his arms around me pulling me into him. I turned round to smile at him and was rewarded with a tender passionate kiss.
"Can you guys just stop that for just like thirty seconds?" Carl snapped. I turned to frown at him,
"No." Derek said with a smile placing his hand gently on my cheek turning my face back to his returning me to our kiss.
"This is His fault." Daniel said vaguely I didn't look but I guessed he was blaming Bryce. Derek slid his hands up my back clicking open my bra without a pause. I reached down and gently bit his lower lip.
"For God's sake you two should we just chuck water over them or something?" Bryce asked the room at large. I smiled and slid myself away from Derek's kiss he pouted at me, as I reached around and began clumsily trying to recluse my bra, but this pout soon turned into a light snarl, as Carl was watching me with what Derek assessed to be too much interest. Something's seemed to have been resolved by leaving my boys to have a chat but something more substantial had changed that is there was a clear tension a different one to before but it was there so clear I could almost taste it. Neither of them had talked to be about it but Derek's insistence on all but draping me across him every time Carl was near made me suspect that much as I hated to admit it Bryce may have been right in his suspicions. But Despite what Bryce had said it wasn't easy trying to convince Derek to do what I wanted. Getting him and Carl out of the bar had been very easy it just involved hovering in the doorway until one of them noticed (which took about fifteen seconds) and then giving them the look after enduring that for about five seconds the two of them dutifully got up and made their way over to me without a word, their posture perfect for two naughty little puppies who have been caught out causing mischief and now know they are in trouble so are coming quietly (but with the big sad eyes so that you can't shout at them).
My suggestion whispered to Derek had made his eyes sparkle but this was closely followed by,
"No."
"I didn't suggest anything."
"I know you I know what your thinking."
"No you don't," I said flashing him a wicked grin,
"I can make an educated guess." He said softly,
"So what's your problem with what I'm thinking?" he grimaced,
"Timing and time restraints and... and the fact that it's just not right it's not how it should be not for you."
"Timing isn't perfect I'll admit that and time is tight and I know it's unconventional but you think we're going to have a better time? And I love you I just I know it's not perfect but I don't care,"
