-March 8th, Friday-
Yoongi was the first to wake up and get out of bed as he checked the clock on his phone's lock screen.
6:49 a.m. Friday, March 8
"I should probably get ready for school now since it starts at 8:00 a.m." Yoongi sleepily croaked, half awake. He went to the closet, taking out his school uniform before going to the bathroom to take a quick shower.
After that Yoongi began to make some breakfast for himself and Jimin. By breakfast, he meant pancakes and scrambled eggs.
~~~
It's currently 7:08 a.m. and Yoongi has already finished making breakfast for the two of them so he decided to go and wake Jimin up.
"Yah, Jiminie. Wake up." Yoongi prompted while shaking Jimin, who was still in bed with a blanket over his head. "C'mon Minnie, we have school today. I also made you pancakes and scrambled eggs but if you don't want them, I'll gladly take them."
Still no response from Jimin. "Yah! Jiminie! Wake up!" Yoongi yelled, not caring about the people in the dorm rooms next to theirs.
"I'm still waiting for you to say hyung." Jimin mumbled from under the sheets.
"Do I have to? You're literally like, only a year older than me. And we are really close friends so what's the point of using honorifics?" Yoongi complained, trying to pry off the blanket from Jimin's bed.
"Yes you have to, it's honorifics. You'd be disrespecting me." Jimin clarified.
"Fine, Jiminie hyung. How come Joonie doesn't care if I use honorifics with him or not? Why are you acting so much like Jin hyung now?" Yoongi grumbled, finally managing to take the blanket away from Jimin, who sat upright in his bed now.
"Okay, okay slow down Yoongs. First, Namjoon hyung isn't a big fan of honorifics. So to him it doesn't matter wether you call him hyung or not yet I still choose to respect him and call him Namjoon hyung.
Second, Honorifics as you know, are used to show respect to those older than you. See, you said Jin hyung because he's older than you, and you need to show respect by saying hyung. Seokjin hyung, unlike Namjoon hyung, is big on honorifics and wants those younger than him to be respectful. I want to be respected by those younger than me too, which is why I want you to call me hyung. That's also why I'm acting a lot like Jin hyung, because I want to be looked up to and respected just like him.
If someone was younger than you, you'd want them to be respectful to you right?" Jimin asked.
"Of course I'd want them to be respectful to me-"
"Exactly. So stop complaining Yoongi." Jimin interrupted with a matter-of-factly tone in his voice.
"Aish, I was expecting a simple answer Jimin hyungie. Not a full on lecture." Yoongi pouted.
"Yah, it's your fault Yoongs. Now c'mon, let's go eat the breakfast you prepared. It could be getting colder by the second." Jimin said, getting up from his bed and walking to the table where Yoongi placed their breakfast.
"Chim hyung, look at the time. You should hurry with eating your breakfast if you still want to shower. School will start soon." Yoongi reminded Jimin, looking at the clock on their wall. It was suddenly 7:24 already.
"Ah shi—I mean shoot. I gotta hurry." Jimin said, his mouth stuffed with food as he refrained himself from cursing.
~~~
"Bye Yoongs, I'll catch up with ya during lunch!" Jimin made clear before they both parted into different classes.
"M'kay! See you later Minnie hyung!" Yoongi shouted back as he entered the classroom for first period. A classroom for social studies to be exact. They were learning about contemporary world history. Should be easy right? Nope. Yoongi isn't exactly intrigued with social studies. He doesn't know why it's just— boring. Y'know? Yoongi's lack of interest in social studies is mostly what makes his grades that fall into that category pretty low.
Yoongi sat down in his usual seat for social studies, at the back of the classroom, next to a window. He was silent, nobody sat next to him so there was just an empty seat to the right of his.
Yoongi never really had any friends besides Jimin so he mainly just kept to himself.
"Good morning class, I assume you all are prepared for today's lesson?" Mr. Kang said as he walked into the loud classroom, filled with students chattering to one another.
"Students, please settle down now. Class is starting in a couple of minutes and I would like to make an announcement before I start with the lesson." Mr. Kang stated, quieting the classroom.
"We have a new student joining us today and it just so happens that I bump into him in the hallways. What a coincidence isn't it? Anyways, please come in and introduce yourself." Mr. Kang rambled, as he gestured for the new student to come up to the front of the classroom.
"Hello everyone, I'm Jung Hoseok! I know it's kind of strange to have a new student when we're already more than halfway through the school year, but I hope that doesn't change anything! I hope that we can be good friends!" Hoseok, the new student rejoiced with a heart-shaped smile.
"Umm lets see. . . ah! Hoseok you can take a seat right over there, next to Min Yoongi. Yoongi, please raise your hand so Hoseok can see where you are." Mr. Kang instructed. Yoongi slowly raised his hand as Hoseok started walking towards him to take the seat right next to his.
"Hi, I guess I'm going to be sitting next to you from now on." Hoseok said, waving at Yoongi.
"Y-yeah, it's— it's nice to m-meet you." Yoongi stuttered, holding out his hand for Hoseok to shake.
"Alright class, let's start today's lesson, shall we?" Mr. Kang asked, the class groaned in unison. He started talking on about the Cold War, and why it happened.
"So, not to be rude or anything but how old are you?" Hoseok whispered, trying not to get caught by the teacher.
"I-I'm fifteen, why?" Yoongi whispered back.
"Then that means I'm your hyung. I just turned 17 this year, February 18." Hoseok mentioned.
"Ah, o-okay then." Yoongi replied, trying to focus on the teacher's words but it's really hard to when you don't care about the topic they're talking about.
Multiple questions pondered in Yoongi's head. Hoseok hyung is 17? That means he knows his soulmates first words to him! I wonder what it is. Why did Hoseok hyung move to this school? And why did he move in the middle of the school year?
"Mr. Min! Would you like to answer the question I asked you?" Mr. Kang said, looking straight at Yoongi.
"I-I, umm. . ." Yoongi stuttered.
