S-Soulmates?! (Yoonkook, y.k.)

-September 14th, Monday-

"We want to tell you guys something." Yoongi spoke up, looking at Jungkook for approval before continuing.  "Well uh, we're— we're soulmates!"

Jimin's eyes went wide, his mouth slightly agape. Hoseok blinked his eyes, as if that would really do anything.

Silence filled the room for just a couple of seconds, Jungkook and Yoongi waiting for a response from their two upperclassmen.

"W-what?!" Jimin finally blurted out in disbelief.

"Really??" Hoseok prompted.

"Yes really." Jungkook answered, not wanting the whole 'soulmate' thing to be a big deal.

"No. How— when?? Did you just find out?" Jimin went on. "How can he— that jerk— be your soulmate?!"

"I'm not a jerk!" Jungkook said, annoyed.

"W-we just found out today, alright? Just like you and Taehyungie hyung did." Yoongi told Jimin, trying to defend Jungkook from being bad-mouthed by Jimin.

"Taehyung is different from that bunny boy, he's kind and doesn't fuck around with random people." Jimin retorted.
"Yoongi, I don't want you to get hurt from being with that Jeon kid. He's no good for you. You guys are literally opposites!"

"Well you know what they say, opposites attract." Hoseok interrupted, all eyes were now on him. "Yeah, um. . . I probably shouldn't say anything else. . ."

"So what do you want me to do instead? Have no soulmate for the rest of my life?" Yoongi asked, waiting for an honest response from Jimin.

Jimin hesitates for a second, speechless. "It's not that I don't want you to have a soulmate Yoongi, I just— I just want what's best for you! He doesn't know how to truly love someone, I can tell!"

Jungkook felt a sudden pain in his heart. He was upset. It felt like a bullet had just shot him because he knew that Jimin was right. Jungkook doesn't know how to truly love someone.

"B-but that doesn't mean he can't learn Jimin! He can change, I know he will." Yoongi cried out, tears threatening to fall.

"How do you know he will? What if your soulmate just plays with your feelings?" Jimin questioned.

How the hell did it get to this?  Didn't Yoongi tell Jungkook that they wouldn't hate them after telling the two that they're soulmates? He did, but the problem isn't that Jungkook and Yoongi are both males. The problem is that Jimin doesn't like Jungkook. Hoseok? Well, he doesn't know what to think.

"Can you guys leave now?" Jungkook mumbled. "What?" Jimin asked, not hearing Jungkook's words. "I asked for you two to leave, now." Jungkook repeated, raising his voice.

"I'm not leaving until I say I'm leaving—"

"Jimin, come on. Let's just give them space, let them think it all out." Hoseok cut in. Jimin stayed silent but listened to Hoseok, slowly walking out of the room, Hoseok following behind him.

"See you tomorrow Yoongi-ah. . ." Hoseok sadly smiled, looking at Yoongi, who did a small wave back to him.

Once both upperclassmen we're out of the room, Yoongi looked over to Jungkook, who was staring at nothing. 

"K-Kookie?" Jungkook turned his head, looking at Yoongi. "Are you okay?  M'sorry if Jiminie hyung hurt you. . ."

"It's okay Kitten. I just want some time to myself right now." Jungkook murmured, getting up from his seat, collecting the dirty dishes and placing them in the sink.

"O-oh, don't worry about that. I'll do the dishes tonight, go ahead and rest." Yoongi suggested, standing up to go wash the dishes himself. Jungkook nodded without saying a word, heading to the bathroom to brush his teeth.

After Yoongi finished washing all of the dishes, he went to brush his teeth, then got into his bed, looking up at the ceiling.

Yoongi turned to his side, looking at Jungkook who was facing the wall.  He's probably sleeping already.  Yoongi thought. 

"Kookie?"

No response.

I-I. . .I love you."

No response. 

Yoongi sighed, not knowing Jungkook was still awake, listening to Yoongi's words.  Jungkook didn't respond, because honestly, he didn't know what to say back.
