Ruby V.

I wake up with the sound of my annoying alarm clock and my faded morning vision. I slowly start to get out of bed, ignoring the cries of my self conscious telling me to come back to bed. "I know you're cozy bed, but not today." I tell myself. I tie my hair in a messy knot and head towards the calender. "Ew, it's a Monday. I better start looking for jobs today.." I mutter to myself as I walk in the kitchen, grabbing the newspaper on the table, looking through each job with a scowl on my face. There's nothing with a good pay these days, huh.

"Not even going to acknowledge your own brother, huh." I hear my sarcastic twin along with a sizzle from the frying pan. He's actually making breakfast, what a surprise. I get the paper out of my face and put on a bright, sarcastic smile. "Morning!" I exclaim and glue my eyes on the paper once more. "I know it's the morning, and I know it's Monday, but can you at least try to be cheerful?" Leo asks and I roll my eyes. "Sure kiddo, why not." I mutter under my breath, and that's when I find something interesting. "LEO! I FOUND SOMETHING GOOD IN THE PAPER! 'HELP WANTED: 'The Roundabout '  A new music shop, looking for employee, pay 10% commission of your sales. Call now! 1-800-rou-dabt'!' THIS COULD BE WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!" I almost cried with joy. I've been looking for a new job for about 4 days straight, and not one looked interesting at all or didn't have a good pay until now.

"Good for you Roo! If I were you, try to get day shift, since I got day shift on my job. That job also sounds so much better then me being a waiter at an old diner.." Leo says, going on and on until I shush him.

"I'm calling them you dingbat!" I whisper loudly enough for him to hear me. He just gives me a smirk and tap my fingers nervously on the wooden table, waiting for someone to answer. "Thank you for calling Roundabout, my name is Amerah how may I-" She gets cut off by my nervous voice- "May I please speak to your manager? I'm calling for the job." I say, biting my lower lip. Leo starts to listen in and I don't even attempt to shove him off, I know he wouldn't ruin something this serious. 'Hold on one sec." Amerah says calmly, as I get put on hold. I start tapping nervously once again and Leo starts to mumble how I'm never going to get this job and as soon as I hear a voice I punch Leo in the shoulder to get him to shut up. Luckily, it worked.

"Hello, this is Mr. Reynolds, manager of Roundabout, how may I help you today?" He asks nicely. He sounds kind, but also stressed out. "Hi, my name is Ruby Valdez, I'm here to apply for a job from the paper." I say and the minute he talks, I can tell he's excited that someone noticed the ad- "Alright then Ms.Valdez, I'll have an interview with you this evening, 6:30. Is that okay with you?" He asks politely. "Yes, of course." I say, a smile from ear to ear on my face. "Great! Then I'll see you then." He says cheerfully and hangs up. I look at my brother and he looks at me, and I just drown in a minute of happiness. How can anything go wrong?

That's when I got a call 5 minutes later by a familiar number.

Alexander Z.

I call Ruby from my cell as I tried to reach her even though she was six blocks away...

Eh, to lazy.

I wasn't even in the mood to walk. I had a terrible meeting/fight with my father yesterday about the complex, and even though he knows full well that I don't want the responsibility of the complex on my shoulders, he, of course, forces it on me. Great dad, only cares about family legacy instead of his sons thoughts. That, and I had to go with Misty to my grandparents to drop something off and since my grandparents were leaving for vacation right after that, I didn't even have time to walk. And even after that, I had a busy, terrible day ahead of me with my father.
