(Sparrow's P.O.V)
I was now scared... A lot and I couldn't go to sleep, but I did eventually go to sleep. Jay ordered the guards around us. He sat on the cot and I laid my head on the pillow and curled up into an awkward shaped ball and fell asleep.
(Jay's P.O.V)
I hate that she has to sleep in this cot. I hate that she has to be cuffed. I hate that she was previously beaten. UGH I HATE THIS WHOLE THING! That STUPID Private Hughes BEAT HER! OH LORD HE BETTER BE HAPPY TO GET A SMIDGEN OF MERCY FROM THAT KING 'CAUSE I SURE AIN'T GONNA LET THIS SLIDE!!!! I leave the circle and walk over to Private Hughes. He automatically cringes.
"H-Hello G-General what are you d-doing over here?"
His breathing was hard and he was very pale.
"I'm here to hear if you want to answer why you punch Sparrow. Without my permission. "
"I-I don't know. I was so used to beat people for interrogation that it slipped my mind that she was b-bethroved to the new King."
I scowled. I didn't know what to say. My emotions where clouding my judgement. I couldn't say the right thing without wanting to beat the crap out of him again. I turn and start back towards the circle.
"G-general I-I am so s-sorry."
"SHUSH BE GLAD THAT I GAVE YOU MERCY!"
He cowers and goes into an awkward position. He couldn't move due to the broken ribs. I go all the way back to the circle and sit down next to Sparrow who was asleep. The van starts to slow and the driver bellows out.
"WE ARE HERE!"
Sparrow jolts up and stares at me with a look of nervousness, and groggy-ness.
"It's okay..." I whisper.
"B-but what if they recognize you?"
She whispers back.
"They won't... I promise. These bozos don't recognize me... I'll be fine."
She gives me a quick hug. I stand up.
"Now men! I shall escort Sparrow inside and you all shall escort Private Hughes to the dungeon."
They salute.
"Sir yes sir!"
The driver pulls up to the gates and pulls out an I.D card, and shows it to the gate keeper. The gate keeper nods and we pass through. The driver pulls up to the gates. I open the door of the van. The two soldiers carry out Private Hughes, while I uncuff the shackle on Sparrow's foot. I pick her up, bridal style, and carry her to the gates. As soon as I enter I am greeted by nurses who curiously glance at me to the 'princess'.
"One of the soldiers wounded her. She requires medical attention."
The nod and wave for me to follow. We walk down halls an go up winding staircases. Once we reach the hospital wing, I lay Sparrow down on the bed.
"She was wounded slightly above her belly button. The wound is bandaged but should still be looked at."
The nurse lifts up her shirt to the wound, and takes off the bandage. She studies the wound for a minute then walks up to a cabinet, which was at the end of the wing, and puts a couple bottles on a little tray and walks back. She takes of the first bottle and opens it. It was a pinkish salve like substance. She then rubs the salve on the wound. Sparrow howls out in pain.
"OWWWWW, IT BURNS!"
I immediately go to Sparrow an take her hand. She squeezes my hand. I then think back to the roller coaster ride. The nurse stops putting on the salve. Now she has a rag with a blue liquid on it. She dabs the wound twice and the cut was gone. I stare with amazement. Sparrow calms down.
"Feel better?"
I ask slowly coming out of my daze.
"Yes."
She softly whispers. I look at the maid.
"You are excused. I shall watch over her."
She bows and walks out of the wing.
I look over at Sparrow. She is no longer pale and she seems more relaxed.
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"Thank you, Mr. Lucas, for holding my hand through my agony." She lightly smiles.
"You are welcome Ms. Collins."
I, being the goofy person that I am, bowed. She laughs. She leans up to my ear and whispers.
"I love you, Jay."
"I love you too." I whisper back.
Suddenly the door opens and I hear a soft voice.
"Where is the princess?"
I let go of Sparrow's hand.
"She is here."
A little woman, the queen, peeks around the corner.
"I have been assigned to watch over her. For I was the one who caught her."
"Whatever you say Mr. Lucas. I was curious because I cannot find my son."
"Where would he be?"
"Originally I would suspect he would have been with the princess by now. Why is the princess here anyway?"
"Oh she is here because a traitor among my soldiers beat her while I was doing something else."
"Who was it?"
"Private Hughes." I said it with a hiss.
"Oh. Where is the Private?"
"He was escorted to the dungeons."
"Ok. If you see prince Flynn alert me."
"Yes ma'am."
I bow. She leaves the wing.
"Jay?"
"Yes?"
"Don't leave me please."
"I wouldn't dream of it."
She smiles softly and suddenly stops breathing. Her eyes were open wide too.
"Sparrow. Sparrow? SPARROW!?"
I look at her face her eyes were looking at me but she didn't see me.
"Sparrow..." My voice cracked. "Please don't die... I-I love you.... I need you..."
Teardrops begin to drip down my face.
