Ashley's POV
Just as I thought the tiring day was over, someone started pounding on my door, "oh god no! UGHHH!" I buried my head under my pillows. I prayed for the knocking to stop but the annoying person outside wasn't gonna stop till I opened up the damn door. I reluctantly stood up and lazily walked to the door. I opened it and screamed, "WHAT?", and I realised it was Brad. Of course, why didn't I think of that. My expression softened but my voice remained fierce and grumpy. "What do you want? I'm really really tired, can you please just let me sleep?" I whined like a 5 year old would. "Look, I just wanted to say I'm sorry for being such a dick just now okay?" he explained. "You might be lying right now."
"No, I'm really sorry, I mean it. I guess I just got worked up that Jayden is dating you and stuff since you know... how broken you've became after the asshole left."
Tears stung my eyes when he said that. But I wasn't gonna let Dexter ruin my life anymore. He's over.
"Falling apart doesn't mean I can't put myself back together. I'm trying. Jayden will help me, I believe he would."
"Have you... have you told him yet?"
"No," I softly said, shaking my head.
Brad pulled me into a hug and I hugged him back. "I trust that guy, you know," he mumbled and I nodded. "I trust him too," I smiled. For once, I didn't cry when I heard Dexter's name. "Alright, you should grab some sleep, there's school tomorrow," Brad patted my head. "Okay, good night, Brad," I rubbed my eyes and waved at him. He kissed me on the cheek, "goodnight." There he was again, my older brother, he's back.
