Falling asleep is all he remembered. It seems to be close to nightfall, dinner would be soon he thought. Getting up he grabs his stuff to start to head out, noting the students population starting to leave common rooms and halls. As he walked students would make way for him staring in disgust. Sighing he walked towards the main hall planning on just waiting at the entrance for Professor McGonagall.

As he gets there he sits down near the entrance watching people come and go no once looking at him anymore. Lucky me finally being left along he thought. Not once did he notice a group of Slytherin boys scanning him. Opening his satchel he decides to work on homework that was assigned that week. Unbeknownst to him the boys had slowly crept closer till they were right in front of him.

"Not so brave now huh pottah"

"Now now malfoy my name is pot-t-er say it with me pot-t-er, who is this pottah fellow,"

Malfoy only groans, "What do you want, came here to make fun of me as usual" he questions.

"Well since you know it takes the fun out of it," the ferret had explained.

"Hurry along then wouldn't want daddy dearest to be getting calls about a missing child now do we?" he boldly threatened.

"My father will hear about this,"

"Sure he will,"

Malfoy quickly strutted into the hall almost begrudgingly. Decided he had enough time he starts to wander the halls. Looking at portraits sometimes talking to them.

He sees one covered in spider webs and dust. Curious he heads towards it.

"Um...hello?"

A snort is heard.

"What's your name?" the portrait whispers.

"Potter, Harry Potter a pleasure"

"Ah the golden boy of course,"

"I suppose you could say that mister, may I be so bold to ask what your name may be?"

"Why yes the name Salazar Slytherin at your service," the portrait almost seemed to bow. "One of the greatest wizards of all time," he finished smugly.

"Why is your portrait all the way down here in the midst of nowhere," at the dead end too not to mention he thought.

"The old coot didn't like me being near the students, said I could taint them. How would I they've already chosen their houses," he grumbles.

"Would you want to leave?" he states out of nowhere.

"Why yes I would do you have somewhere in mind young one" he says as harry starts to take a slight feather and starts to brush off the dust and grime on the portrait.

"I can put you in a private room until I can find a permanent place that you wouldn't be taken down from."

"You would? but then again why would you, being a Gryffindor."

"I am but you are one of the greatest wizards of all time why wouldn't I want to talk to you? Now the real question is did the old man put any charms so you wouldn't be able to be taken down?"

"No, he thought no one would find me. Arrogant if you ask me,"

"Ok then I can shrink you down until I get to my room till then I'll put you in my satchel." Harry explained.

At the portrait nod he shrunk him to the size where everything could fit in his satchel checking the time he's sees he's almost late. As quickly as he can he runs down the halls trying to find the main hall again, minutes past in a complete panic. After a few minutes he spots the main hall coming to a complete halt. Just as he stops the doors opened and students are rushing out in a unprecedented hurry. Watching as everybody goes out he stands there waiting until all students are out, then he walks in and heads towards the professors tables. Professor McGonagall stands up and starts to walk towards him.

"Now Mr. Potter I will show you to where you will be staying for the remainder of the year,"

"Yes professor," he quietly speaks.

They walked slowly and calmly towards the common room, not once did Harry look up from his shoes. Soon they walk into the common room it went silent in a instant everybody was staring in confusion as not many of the gryffindors had time to get into their rooms. In an almost public humiliation he is kicked out of his room and taken to the back of the tower away from everyone else and in a deserted hall. Professor McGonagall had stopped at the farthest room away.

"While I do not believe any of the charges that have been placed on you, I can't show favoritism. Just know that you can always come to me should you need it. Those boys really have it out for you, be careful." She speaks to him in a stern tone.

He stares in wonder, she had to do this he thought she didn't really hate him, duties must come first as deputy headmistress and head of the house.

"Thank you professor,"
