Again, I don't know who the art is by but if you do, comment and I'll add it in. It's a human High school AU.

He never felt safe around his classmates. It was like there was this invisible line that none of them crossed. The only one that truly understood was his teacher, Mr Sanders. Mr Sanders insisted that his class called him Thomas. Thomas was the only one that tried to involve Virgil in partner work, mainly asking Virgil to speak outside with him and asking how his home life was. See, his parents were homophobic and hated that he acted gay. Once, they even asked him to be moved to a different class because Thomas was gay. See, the reason that Thomas only asked how his home life was was because his parents were abusive. It was mainly his father that physically abused him, though his father was careful not to hit him on his arms or his face. His mother was the master of mental abuse. Arguments over nothing, telling him to go and kill himself, the lot. Sometimes he seriously thought of how to kill himself. This was why he was mute. The only three people who knew about his abusive parents were Remy, the art teacher; Mr Emile Picani, the mental health and wellbeing teacher and Thomas.

After a particularly bad beating (both physically and mentally), he had had enough. The next day at school, he asked to speak with Thomas. He asked if Thomas could adopt him or at least let him stay at his place for a few days but Thomas insisted that he needed to get a parent's permission. He insisted that it was fine, that his parents didn't care about him. He begged and begged but the answer was no. Neither Thomas, Emile or Remy spoke to him for the rest of that day.

When he got home, he dug his nails into himself so hard that he bled, he said he was fine but he wasn't. When his parents started abusing him, he had blamed himself for it. He started self-harming. Back then, it was not too bad but recently it had gotten worse. He had started burning and cutting himself and that's why he always wore a long-sleeved hoodie, to hide the scars and blisters.

Ok, so this ended up being a two-part story. That is all, peace out!
