Just a little side note. The 'he' mentioned in the first part will be referred to in bold whereas the other he's will be referred to in just normal writing. Also, his mother is his stepmother, his actual mother was kicked out by his dad for being a lesbian.

(Previously)

He had started burning and cutting himself and that's why he always wore a long sleeved hoodie. To hide the scars and blisters.

(Present)

What made it worse was that he had a crush on the most popular jock in the school. Roman. He always wore his chestnut hair slicked back, a red leather jacket with a crown on the back. Underneath it, he wore a white t-shirt, he also wore black skinny jeans and red converse high-tops. Roman was the head of drama club which earned him a lot of respect.

His best friend Patton was asexual but he loved cuddling. His other friend Logan was asexual and aromatic. And he was gay. Roman was also gay and he often daydreamed in class about him and Roman being in a relationship together. He had come out to his friends but not to his parents.
"Why not tell them?!" Patton asked.
"Dunno. Just 'cos" he had replied. The truth was, his parents had threatened, to quote his mother 'If you are as gay as you act, we will either kill you or kick you out of this house forever. Or both.'.

One day, in maths, Patton walked up to the teacher and handed him a note. When he asked what it was for, Patton had just said that he needed to go home early.

When he got home, his mother was holding a tearful Patton by a shoulder and, by the whiteness of her knuckles, quite hard.
"YOU ARE A DISCRASE!" bellowed his mother, shoving Patton at him so that he had to steady him. "YOU HAVE 1 HOUR TO COLLECT YOUR STUFF! YOU WILL NEVER BE ALLOWED BACK IN THIS HOUSE, EVER AGAIN!" and with that, she slammed the door in their faces.
"What have you done?" he asked, feeling rage build up inside him.
"Well, I thought your parents would want you to come out and we could celebrate together but, clearly not." said Patton, hanging his head in shame. Then he ran. He didn't know, nor care, where he was going, just anywhere isolated, anywhere away from that hellhole of a house that he was supposed to feel safe in. As he ran, he felt hot tears start to stream down his face. At some point, he ended up in a wood and sat down with his back against a tree to rest.
"Hey," said a voice from above him. It was Roman. "Listen, this might be a bad time for lovey-dovey stuff but can we talk?" he asked, plopping down on the floor with a soft thud before kneeling in front of me. "Virgil, right?" he asked.
"Yeah." he replied.
"Virgil, from the first time I laid eyes on you, I have loved you. I know that your gay and saw you getting kicked out and wondered two things. One, would you like to stay at mine? Two, will you be my boyfriend?" asked Roman.
" Ohmygodyesandyes" he replied, his words flowing together. He tackled Roman into a hug. "Lead the way, my prince!" he said.

(At Roman's house the next morning)

"Good morning, Virgil!" said the two Mrs Royal's in unison.
" Morning! " he replied. Then there was a strange conversation about how he and Roman were half brothers and Lydsney Royal was his mum. He knew that this was how he wanted to spend the rest of his life. Free, happy, gay (and proud to be gay) and most of all, safe.

Well, that turned out a bit unexpected! IMPORTANT!!!!!! If you are in the same situation as Virgil, or just need to talk, please talk. Even if you just talk to a teddy or a pet, talk about your problems. 'A problem shared is a problem halved' is what I always say.

Anyway, that is all, see us later guys, gals and non-binary pals, peace out ✌✌✌
