"Remus?"

TW: Death, suicide, big sad, cutting.

The sides fell asleep in their beds that night, blissfully unaware.

Tis now morning

Roman woke up to weak sunlight, and sighed. Another day. He got up and opened his curtains, opening the window and seeing if any people were awake. Remus was asleep on the floor, but what's new about that?

Wait-

Remus was asleep on the floor outside??

Remus only ever slept on the floor inside.

"Ah well, he's fallen from much higher than his window before," Roman said, before closing his window and curtains and getting ready.

When Roman was dressed, Remus still hadn't moved.

"Oh shit, what's happened," said Roman sarcastically, going to see if Remus was ok

When outside, Roman kicked Remus lightly with his foot. "Oh dear." he said.

He left Remus, figuring he was still asleep or something.

Patton went outside to tend to his flowers, but saw Remus on the way.

"Remus?" said Patton, lightly slapping the other. Remus was ice cold, and not breathing. His eyes were open and glazed over, and his mouth was slightly open, froth at the corners of his mouth.

Patton had tears streaming down his face, "L- Logan! V- Virgil? Roman?!"

The three aforementioned sides ran up to Patton.

Patton was holding Remus' head in his lap, holding his hand and gently stroking his hair. "Logan you have to help him!"

"Oh big deal, he's asleep, whatever." said Roman, rolling his eyes and walking inside.

Patton looked lost, helpless. He bit his lip, "I'll bury him." he mumbled quietly.

"Patton we don't even know if he's-" Virgil started, but Patton waved him off.

"He's dead." Patton had tears in his eyes, but didn't let any spill.

All that day, Patton busied himself making a suit for Remus. A simple black suit with a green tie and black trimming.

Patton took Remus' hoodie off of him, and something red caught his eye. Slashes in Remus' skin. Words. Monster. Freak. Mistake. Shouldn't even be here.

Patton closed his eyes, a tear rolling down his cheek.

It came to the funeral.

The sun was shining brightly and cheerfully, and Patton felt like shouting at the sky, 'Why are you so cheerful?! Someone's just died and you can just shine there like nothing's happening?!'

Well, the thing is Patton, people die every day. And for a while, it hurts. It hurts terribly, and while everyone is getting on with life, you sit there. Heart-wrenching pain and sorrow. People ask if you're ok and you shrug them off... But you're not. You feel like the world should stop because someone has died. But thousands of people die daily. And everyone feels the same way.

Patton didn't let himself cry. He closed off his emotions. He couldn't feel happy, he couldn't feel anything but the heart-wrenching feeling that Remus was gone. Remus was gone and there was no getting him back.

Patton wrote a note

I know how it goes,
You'll walk in, gasp in horror.
This note will catch your eye.
Reading it, your tears will spill,
But here, have my soul.
The very accumulation of my being.
Take it and do with it what you will.
But just don't forget me.
Logan. You can have my cat hoodie.
Roman. You can have a dollar.
Virgil. You can have as much coffee as you want.
Janus. You can have your hat back.
I'll be in heaven with Remus now.
Singing and flying
But I want you to know
I love you all

There were blood stains all over the note. Patton was swinging lifelessly from a noose.

Logan strangled himself with his tie.

Virgil died from suffocation.

Janus shot himself in the mouth.

Roman laughed. "Good riddance."
