Spencer sat in his car. He just sat there staring at this piece of paper. The page said 'Victoria 571 221 6589 ;-)' She was so pretty why would she want me? Spencer drove home with this simple little question in his mind. Why me? What's the catch? Spencer got back to his apartment and sat on his couch. "When should I call her"? he asked himself. "I don't want to sound desperate by calling to soon, but I didn't want to sound like a douchbag if I waited to long" He decided he was going to call her at 3 and ask if she wanted to go out to dinner tonight. It was already 1, so he would have to find something to take his mind off this. Spencer got up off the couch and walked over to the closest mirror. "Hey yeah, so Victoria." No that's not right! "So baby I was wondering?" No! I cant do this. Spencer walked away from the mirror and looked out the window. The streets were so busy, he needed to find something to do before he went crazy. He decided he would go to the store and pick up some groceries. He got, milk, lettuce, carrots, and a couple sweets. Then he walked over to the book store. Thousands of books surrounded him, it was his candy land. This place was slowly going out of business. None of the 'young kids' like these types of books. They only want what's new and shiny, not what's classic and dusty. The shop keeper knows me by name and I know his. I come here all the time and it would be such a shame to see this place go. "Afternoon Spencer" the shopkeeper greets me. "Good afternoon Henry" I cheerfully reply. I skim my finger along the spines of the books. So much knowledge, so much history packed away in such a tiny package. I'm almost out of books to read so I scan through them. After what feels like an eternity a pick one and bring it to the cash register. "How are you today?" Henry asks. Henry is an older man with short white hair. He is plump and round and has chubby cheeks. "I'm doing wonderful, you?" "Oh same old same old" he says with his rusty voice. I pay him and grab the book. I give him a slight smile. "Thanks" I say and walk out. I check my phone I was in there for and hour and a half. They do say time time flyswhen your having fun. I just hope my milk didn't spoil. I get in my car and drive back to my apartment. I walk in with groceries and set them on the counter. I put the book on my book shelf with the rest. Almost all of my books are from Henry's shop. I start putting away the groceries. After that I grab my phone and sit on one of my chairs. I dial her number and listen to the phone ringing hoping she will pick up. 1 ring, 2 rings, 3 rings..  "Hello?" I hear the voice on the other end say "Yeah, um hi, its Spencer" "Oh hey Spencer whats up?" "Well I was wondering if maybe you wanted to have dinner with me tonight?" I hear her pause "Yes, I would love too, pick me up at 5, I live at 23 Albert St." she said. "Alright see you then" I replied calmly. I hung up the phone and started dancing around the room. Wait! I have to pick her up in 2 hours. I get back into my car and drive to the store. I grab some bright red roses and pay for them. I go home and get on one of my suits. Not one that is to fancy but also not too casual. 4:30 now. I get in my car and take a deep breath. I am very nervous, what if I say the wrong thing, or do something stupid? I start the car and drive to her house. She lives in a normal sized house, bigger than mine. I look down at my watch 5 o'clock. I get out of the car and walk up the steps that lead up to her door. I take another deep breath, roses in hand, and knock. That moment when your waiting at the door, you feel like you want to puke and run as far away as you possibly can but you can't because your frozen in place, like someone glued your feet to the floor. I see the door knob turning and the door opens. Standing at the door is the beautiful woman I have ever seem. Her hair was curled, her makeup done just the right amount and she was wearing short black dress. I'm glad I didn't dress up too much. I smile at her "Good evening Victoria" I said. That sounded a lot better than I hoped. "Hey Spencer" she said smiling. I stuck out my arm and she locked her arm in mine. I walked her to my car and opened the passenger side door. Then I got in the drivers seat. "So where are we going?" Victoria asked. "Its a surprise" I replied. I could see the curiosity spreading all over face. She was playing with her thumbs, she was nervous. She... was nervous. We drove down the road almost in silence. "So, how long have you lived in Virginia?" I decided to break the silence. "My whole life. Born and raised." she answered. ""How about you?" "Well" I start "I used to live in Nevada but when I started working for FBI I moved up here" I said. Victoria looked shocked, "You work for the FBI?" she asked excitedly. "Yeah, the Behavioral Analysis Unit otherwise known as the BAU." "So that's why your so smart" She said leaning back into her seat. I blushed. "So Mr. big FBI man, tell me about all of your adventures." "Those are confidential" I say and we both laugh. "I don't know its scary sometimes not knowing who your going to be able save next, but lets not talk about this now, tonight's supposed to be fun. I looked at her and smiled. She reached over and grabbed my hand which sent tingles all down my spine. "Here we are." I pointed to the restaurant. I pulled into the parking lot and got out. I walked over to her side of the car and opened her door holding her hand to help her out. We walked into the restaurant. It wasn't too fancy but it was very nice. When we walked through the front door I noticed how busy it was. The waiter took us to our seats and lite a candle in between us. "Spencer this is to much" "Its OK, do you like it?" "Oh, I love it" Victoria replied holding her hands to her heart. "I'm glad" I say. The waiter returns with some menus. "Today our specials are Pasta with Rosemary sauce, and T-bone steak." the waiter said. He was a very tall man with short black hair. "Thank you" I said. The waiter walked away and I looked at my menu. "What are you getting?" she asked me. "Probably the T-bone steak" I say "and maybe some red wine." "You like red wine?" she asks "That's my favorite, and the pasta looks pretty good" she says drooling over the menu. "What ever you want" I say and look up at her. "You know, this is one of the nicest things anyone's ever done for me." she says staring deep into my eyes. I grab her hands and hold them in mine just as the waiter comes back. "One T-bone, one pasta, and two red wines please" I say. "Will do sir." the waiter says jotting it down on his little notebook. Victoria and I start talking. I tell her things I haven't told many people. I feel comfortable around her. "You know, I'm not usually this comfortable around people" I say. "Me either, I guess we just bring out the best in each other." Before we knew it the food was at the table. "That was quick" Victoria said. The food was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and her food looked great to. Tonight was the perfect night. Once we finished we ordered a small chocolate brownie to share. We each grabbed a piece of the brownie with our fork. It was so good. After we were finished eating the waiter brought the check over to the table. Victoria started digging in her purse for her wallet. "Victoria, its okay, I got it" "Are you sure?" she asked concerned. "Yes, positive". "Thank you" she said. We got up from our table and went to go get back in my car. Tapped on my car window was a sign that said 'Who Will It Be Next!" it wasn't on anyone else car, only mine. I just crumbled it up and threw it in the trash can. "What was that?" Victoria asked. "I don't know" I said. I wasn't about to let some kid ruin my perfect night, even though deep down inside I knew it wasn't just some kid looking for a laugh. I opened Victoria's door then I got in on my side. We started driving back to her house. When we got there I walked her up to her door. "I had a great time tonight" she said. "Yeah, me too" I said. I couldn't help but notice how beautiful her eyes looked under the moonlight. I was really nervous but I did it anyway. I leaned in and softly grabbed her face. I kissed her tender lips and she kissed mine. When we stopped she stared at me gave me one quick kiss and walked into her house, but before she was fully in the doorway she turned around and said "You should call me if you ever want to do this again" she smiled and walked into her house.
