Ch.5

Charlotte got her lunch she tried to find Jughead but she couldn't find him. So she sat down with Betty, Kevin and Veronica.

"So, what did Moose want?" Veronica asked as Charlotte took a bite of her sandwich

"Oh, my god, I don't even think he knows. I mean, I am devastatingly handsome in that classic, pre-accident Montgomery Clift kind of way, and sexuality is fluid, but can someone named Moose actually be that fluid?"

"Okay, well I ship it." Veronica laughs.

"Well, of course, you would. You're a big city girl with loose morals." Charlotte eyes widen slightly at Kevin's words and we all go quiet. "I just meant that Moose has an official girlfriend, Midge. Anyway, it's terrible to say, but part of me wishes he would just stay in the darn closet. Obviously, I didn't mean literal closet."

"Archie!" Veronica says quickly as the tension between us builds. "Any new material you want to try out on a very forgiving audience?"

"I..." Archie hesitates.

"Please."

"Would you? I'd love to hear it." Betty says, taking a seat in front of Archie while Charlotte sat next to him.

"I'm still working on the lyrics, so..." Archie explains before he begins to play his guitar. Charlotte sit with she head rested on her palms, listening to Archie sing. As She sat listening Charlotte catch eyes with Betty, who looked to me with tears in her eyes before she turned her head away and looked back down at her hands.

"Betty, you okay?" Archie asked when she accidentally let out a sniffle.

"I'm supposed to say, yes. That's what the nice girl always says, but... no, I'm not. I want to be. I thought I could be. But it's too much, too fast. Archie..." Betty sobs before getting up and walking away.

"Betty, wait," Archie calls running after her. I look to Veronica and Kevin all three of us sharing the same sad look.

"Do you remember that time you ran away to my house? Jughead ask her as we walked down the corridors together. She blushed softly as there hand brushed.

Yes I was 10 I was so mad at my
Mom for not letting me have an other cookie she giggled

"I remember I opened the door and there you were with your little pink suitcase and tears in your eyes. She nodded softly

You where so sweet to me we had cookies and watched movies she said smiling.

I remember before you left you kissed me Jughead smirked at her she looked away blushing.

Yes I do remember that you were my first kiss she told him. Oh how much she would like to kiss him again she thought with her cheeks red

"Little red..." He start - Jughead grabbing her arm and pulling her back to look through the tiny music room window. As Charlotte look into the music room her eyes widen she gasp.She was going to go in to the room but Jughead quickly stopped her his hands were around her waist.

"Archie,"she mutter looking throw the window, seeing both him and Miss Grundy and him were kissing. She felt disgusted

"We need to talk to him," Jughead grumbles and takes her hand dragging her away from the couple.

Jughead and Charlotte sat on the steps of her house waiting for her brother. How could she do that to him Its disgusting He's 16 and she's like what 30 or something and she's his teacher. Tears came to her eyes Jughead pulled her into his chest he kissed the side of her head.

"Jug what's up?" Archie looked at the two quickly Charlotte pulled away from Jughead.

And stood up with Jughead following her actions Charlotte flung herself into her brother's arms she was crying he hugged her back .He looked back at jug with a questionable look He pulled his sister off and looked at her.

"What's up is that we saw you, Archie. In the music room. With Miss Grundy." Jughead tells him

"Keep your voice down, my dad's inside."

Archie we need to tell daddy Charlotte said

No!! Charlotte please don't tell dad Archie said..

"We're trying to help you dude, I'm trying to be your friend here. Even though we're not anymore. How long? You and Grundy?" Jughead asked.

"Since the summer. I like her." Archie defends but Jughead only scoffs. Charlotte moved away from her brother she felt disgusted he thinks that there in a relationship?

"So I'm guessing she's the reason you've been acting weird since summer?"

"One of them."

"One of them. There's more?" She say stepping closer to Archie.

"We were at Sweetwater River on July Fourth. We heard a gunshot. Archie tells them

"Dude, you have to tell somebody," Jughead commands.

"I can't. Neither can you or you Charlotte If people find out about Grundy..."

"A kid is dead, Archie! And you're worried about some... some cougar?" Jughead says raising his voice

"Don't call her that. Okay, she's not like that, she cares about me." Archie defends completely

Archie no she doesn't she's sick
She's a sick lady a predator she's not your girlfriend and she definitely doesn't care about you!! Charlotte told her brother

"Look, we saw you guys. She's messing with you, man. And she's messing with your mind..."

"What the hell do you know about it, Jughead? Or about me, even?"

"Nothing. But I used to know this guy once. Archie Andrews. He wasn't perfect but... he always tried to do the right thing, at least."

Jughead says and begins to walk away but Archie quickly reaches out and grabs his arm.

"Jug. If you tell anyone about this..." Archie threatens.

"What? What are you gonna do?"

"We all have secrets Jug; do you really want yours out there?"Charlotte frown at her brother what secret?

She watched as his eyes widen slightly and flicker to Charlotte before looking back to Archie.

"You wouldn't dare." Jughead glares at Archie for a second and Archie goes to speak but the door suddenly opens.

"Hey, Jug, Coming in? We got take-out from Pop's there dad said but the boy's eyes never leave each other.

"He were just leaving." Jughead glares at Archie one last time before pulling away from him and walking away. Charlotte looked at Jugheads back as he walks away

Charlotte come in side it's time to eat her dad said she bit her lip and walked in side.. She stayed quiet threw dinner. She wash the dishes.

Honey are you ok? Her dad ask

I'm fine dad just tired she lied she didn't like to lie to her dad he nodded

But you know you can tell me anything right he said she bit her lip and nodded he was walking away

Daddy! He looked at her

Yeah sweetheart? Archie walked behind there dad he looked pleadly at his sister.

I love you daddy she said

I love you too princess her dad said walking forward and kissing her forehead

Good night

Night daddy, Night dad Archie and her said at the same time there dad when't up to bed.

Charlotte gave her brother a look
she was going to go to her room but Archie step's in front of her.

"I can trust you, right Charlotte?" Archie whispers

She nodded before going up to her room she get ready for bed and just laid in bed and thought about stuff like her brother and Juggie and what was his secret?
