Pucca walked into the school eagerly with her best friend Ching alongside her. She was so excited to see all the familiar faces as the schoolyear began. Ching and Pucca were both in their Sophmore year. Ching was happily dating Abyo, a senior at the school. They were childhood friends and it always fit between them, putting aside the slight age difference.
Pucca was a lot smarter than other girls their age, and had her spot in some advanced and even higher grade classes. She completed all her history and math. She was on the last reading class. The principal told her uncles she might graduate way early. Or just have to take one class next year. That excited her, and she got close to the seniors. She didn't have a lot of friends, but she did try.

"Oh! There is Abyo. I have to go, see you at lunch!" Ching waved. "Oh and you might have Garu in your english class!" Ching giggled and ran off.

Pucca already thought of that scenario a million times. Garu has been her crush from preschool to now. He was one of the seniors and was always out of her reach. He is the quarterback of the football team and the captain. Pucca always got to go to the games because Abyo is on the team as well, and she went with Ching. It was obvious Pucca loved Garu to everyone, even himself. He never paid much attention to it, he was rarely around her and lots of girls liked him. Barely compared to Pucca though.
She went through her first day classes with a breeze. The first day was just fun. She saw some people she knew and waved. Her stomach rumbled 4th period. The period before lunch. It had to be english of all classes, her most inportant class. She had to eat breakfast in the mornings so she wasn't so hungry. Today was slow though.
Pucca sat in the back of the room. Not like she didn't want to be called on, but she didn't like others cheating off her and bugging her. She looked up and saw Garu come in. His hair was longer and down, he was wearing a t-shirt and black jeans. Her heart hit the floor. He was so cool to her, he was a smart, athletic, quiet boy. And she thought his personality was amazing. She grabbed her stuff and went to sit next to him. But Ring walked in and sat next to him. Ring-Ring was the head cheerleader and another girl who liked Garu. But she hated Pucca more, and she went around him on purpose to bother her. Frankly, she didn't love anyone but herself.

"Hey Garu. Ready for football season?" She blew a piece of gum and twirled her curly blue hair.

"I'm excited." He said in a quiet tone looking at the teacher waiting for him to talk.

Pucca frowned and tried to ignore. But the sound of his voice just doesn't get away from her. It's so deep and rough. She smiled and blushed to herself knowing he was going to be in the class all year with her.

At the end of the day she walked the halls looking for her locker. When she got to it she bent down and put the lock on it. A bag was tossed casually on the ground next to her locker and she saw a pair of black boots rest on it. They weren't pointed in her direction but she concluded they had the locker next to her. She looked up and her mouth dropped. Garu was there tapping at his phone. She got her bag and stepped back immediately.

"I'm sorry Garu!" She said putting her bookbag on.

"Hmm? I was okay with waiting." He said. "But thank you." He smiled and put his lock on his locker. "Nice to see you Pucca."

Her heart stopped hearing him say her name. "You...You too Garu!" She stuttered.

"Are you going to be a cheerleader?" He smiled.

"Um I never...I never thought of myself as that type." She said twirling her fingers together.

"A cheerleader? Don't make me laugh!" Ring came around the corner with her friends. "Hey Garu want to do something later?" She smiled and Pucca frowned.
