Since a chaotic event in the Underworld, cacodemons (in short, cacs) and diabolos had been carelessly released and they had escaped to the surface. These entities took the form of humans and walked among us, indulging in the pleasure of the seven deadly sins (i.e., pride, avarice, envy, wrath, lust, gluttony and sloth). Since they needed to feed on the energies of humans, they had introduced evil into this dimension and turned them into their sustenance.
As such, Guardians from the five rivers of the Underworld had surfaced to build Elysium in order to hunt these cacs and diabolos down and send them back to where they belonged — in the fiery depths of hell, Tartarus. The five Guardians formed the ruling council named Adrasteia and each of them played an important role in establishing the organisation.

E L Y S I U M (the organisation)
In short, we are organised groups of assassins who were bought and trained since young to work under the council. Children chosen for Elysium were special because we could see through the glamour of cacs and diabolos, making us the most suitable candidates to hunt them down.
All Elysium assassins had clean backgrounds because we were orphans who were born without parents or had lost our parents since young. We had no connections with the outside world that could divert our attention away from our responsibilities and the most important thing, no one would know if we die.
Once bought into Elysium, everyone starts anew. New name, new identity and new family.
And there are only three rules in Elysium:
