XXXVI ‖ happy birthday
LONDON
February
Location: Jaxen's House━━━━━━━━━━
I wrapped my legs around Jax's waist as he strode across the large living area and went straight for the stairs. He pressed a kiss on my neck, at the exact spot right beneath my ear where my pulse could be felt while my hands bunched on the thick material of his sweater and my body was trembling the moment he stepped into his room. When he clicked the lock on his door, my heart stuttered and he rested me on his bed. My ragged breathing was the only sound against the calming silence in his room and my mind was conflicting if I should try to negotiate my way out of this situation.
"Isabel," he said in a hushed tone and I flinched.
"I—" My voice shook and my hands fisted tightly on the soft duvet beneath me.
He noticed my skittishness and backed away, removing his thigh that was wedged between my legs. Closing his eyes, he picked me up gently from the bed and tucked me close into his embrace. Running a hand down my back he spoke softly, "I guessed I was too impatient. I'm sorry."
When he entered the space, I knew where all the headiness was leading towards because I had been there with Sebastian before. Yet, that was so long ago and nothing seemed to compare to this. Then, Sebastian and I were so young and everything felt so reckless. Most of the time, it was teeth and tongue frantic to translate nothing into something. With this man, it felt completely different. My heart demanded so much more and lust wasn't enough. If it wasn't too much to ask for, I wanted him to love me and hold me like he meant it. I felt him pulling from my arm, as though going to release me. I didn't let him. Closing my hands tighter around him, I only pleaded, "Tell me how you feel about me."
"I love you, latreía mou." he said unhesitatingly. His voice was a beautiful, hoarse whisper in my ear as the words formed. "And I mean it."
"What if—"
"Don't," he shushed me. With one hand in my hair and the other on my back, tracing the line of my spine, he said, "Stop being afraid. You have me, sweetness. You would always have me and you can always come home to me." Then, he placed my hand over the left side of his chest and I could feel every faint beat that pumped with vigour underneath when he continued, "If this is where you want to belong, I'll let you have the whole of it, latreía mou. "
"Kiss me," I murmured.
"The problem is," he said as he leaned in. "If I kiss you right now, I don't think I'd be able to stop."
"Then, don't."
That was all the permission he needed to push his lips against mine with full force — mixed with wild, unrelenting heat that scorched me entirely. His eyes were pinned on mine with a fierce storm contained within them that was so capable of sweeping everything I was. Iva. Isabel. Whatever. It doesn't matter at this instance. All I knew was the fact that I wanted this man so badly. I wanted his love, I wanted to love him and I wanted to become full of him at this instance.
