Iva Laurent lost her parents when she was eight. Sold to the black market by her only relative left on this earth, she was later bought at a high price by a mysterious man named Harod. He promised her shelter, food and family. Yet, little did she expect to be pulled into a world beyond her imaginations as she trained to be a cold-blooded assassin who kills without a single blink. Cruel as it may be, the choice was not hers to start with.

She devoted herself to the hunt without a care for the world until a chanced and magnetising encounter with Jaxen Evrard, whose presence simply toppled her life off balance. Unfortunately, her rigidly controlled life was not the only thing being messed up, his appearance also struck fast into her unguarded heart.
