The Dog

As we padded up the slopes we came to the nearest creek. It was full of healthy, plump fish. "Those look good."said Shire. "Yeah, let's go." Shire crouched down and studied the water, as a fish started to move, she scooped it up and clawed it's throat. As Shire looked up, Cody was lapping up some water with a fish at his side. "I'm going to catch more for Cow." He said. As Cody went back to hunting, Shire padded up the hill back to the barn, she carried her fish across the clearing to the barn, as Shire was about to jump into the roof a workfolk pulled up in it's truck and stepped out with a large cage in it's hand, inside of the cage was somthing she couldn't pick up, she jumped onto the roof and stared down. Shire had gotten a little closer and finaly picked up the sent, a dog! shire though. Shire looked around the clearing trying to find Cody, she saw him sitting by the hill eating. Suddenly, a loud growl came from the cage, Shire spinned around and saw that the workfolk had let the dog out. The dog ran out into the barn, and Shire stared  into  the barn. A quiet pad a paws came from behind her Shire turned her head and saw Cody panting, "A dog!"He exclaimed, "Shhh, I know, we're gonna have to keep an eye our prey and him, now." Shire said. "Hopefully the workfolks have him on a chain!"She said. "Yeah, well hopefully they do, becuase I'm going down."Said Cody. As he jumped down and padded across the clearing, Shire went after him, as they walked into the barn they saw the black and white dog curled up in it's cage. Suddenly it's ears raised up. Cody stepped back. It was awake.
