As the bright sunrise woke Shire, she nudged Cody and tried to wake him. "What is it?" He moaned. "Come on let's catch some prey for Cow and Fern." said Shire. Cody and her jumped down, and padded into the trees. "You go to the creek, I'll go to the rocks." Shire said. Cody nodded, and sprang into the trees. Shire turned around and padded into the woods.

Cody padded to the water and saw that there was less fish, Cody's eye caught one swimming near the other side of the bank. Cody crossed the creek by using the fallen oak, he sprang up at the top and padded across it, he padded over to the fish that was swimming around a narrow pool of the water. Cody crouched down and carefully started to move his paw to it, Cody splashed it onto the ground and clawed it. He carefully searched for more. Shire slowly got into a pounce position, she was headed for a squirrel, it was chewing on a seed. Shire quickly pouced and pinned it down on the ground. She picked it up and carried it to her pile where she already had two starlings. She went to the creek and saw Cody putting a watervole in his pile. "Oh, there you are." He said. "You ready to go?" Shire said. "Yes," he said as the padded toward the trees. "We're starting to run out of prey, winter is going to be harsh."Cody said.
