So Fern pouced again even better, they did it again several times more. "Okay, I think we could try hunting something." said Shire. Fern and Shire padded towards the rocks and stopped. "Can you smell anything?"said Shire. "Uh, I think vole?"asked Fern with uncertainty. "Yes! there's also sparrow," Shire said. "So, you know what you did at the clearing?"Shire asked. "Yes."Fern replied, "Do that when you see the prey." said Shire. Fern gave an confused nod. "Just watch me first," Shire said. Shire picked up the sent once more, and started padding towards it, she saw the small sparrow pecking at a seed, she picked up her flanks more, and sprang, suddenly, the bird saw her and started to reach for the air, but it was too late. Shire caught it and pulled it down. "Just like that, okay?" asked Shire. "Yes, okay." Fern said. Fern opened her sent glands and padded low across the ground. She saw a vole crawling around nibbling on seeds. She moved a little closer, but the wind quickly carried her sent towards it, and it ran away, Fern's head raised up with frustration, "Bad luck, let's try again."said Shire. "What can you smell now?" asked Shire. "A stale sent of vole, and, mouse."Fern said. "Okay, trace it's sent," So Fern padded along the rocks farther and farther and saw the mouse cleaning itself near a bush. She moved close and sprang, Fern landed ontop and pushed it down. "You did it!" "great job! let's tell the others."
